Afternoon NCAA Games, and Do You Root for Non-Rival B10 Teams?
Mates,
Going to be a short day at work for me and have the games on right now on the computer. Watching Iowa v. Cincy. Question for you all though as you watch these games, do you pull for the other B10 teams that aren't rivals? For instance, it seems like a natural that we'd want Iowa to advance. If I can get over the Pitino factor, I'm good with Minny advancing yesterday. So setting aside ohio and sparty, do you pull for the other B10 teams?
Northern Lights tonight in most of the northern states, so don't forget to look outside if you can get away from clouds and too much light pollution. Have a great weekend and Go Blue, beat those gators!

If it wasn't already, "Never bet heavy on a Bruce Weber team" should be on your list of bracket-making rules.
Point stands but they did make it to Elite 8 last year.
I root for them. In hoops, I root for OSU for the first couple rounds just to boost the conference profile. MSU? Never.
Look at UVA. If they someone get bounced by a 16-seed again, it will make the ACC look badly. Then if Duke and/or UNC look mortal tonight, people will start saying that maybe the ACC was overvalued and the B1G was even better than previously thought.
This. I don't know how the B1G got so undervalued this year. I suppose it was just because the conference beat itself up?
Colgate putting up a fight... This could be a very interesting day and it there are still sooo many games!
Gardner-Webb, the pride of Boiling Springs, NC
Go toothpaste!
on the crest of a victory?
I'm just gonna forget about getting any work done. Too many exciting games!
Colgate 1 down to TN!
Anteaters beat KSU!
G-W leading UVA!
C'MON COLGATE!!!
Imagine Virginia AND Tennessee both bowing out today in the South.
Who would you take to win that region, if that happened?
I mean shit...winner of Nova and Purdue right?!
I mean -- maybe? Oklahoma is the true wild card here, though, I suppose. But if this happens, man...all of those Big 10 teams in this region would have to be thinking, hey, why not us?
boilermakers
How does Colgate go on a 19-4 run against TN?
It's madness, I tell ya!
Colgate up 22-10 in the second half. Whatever their coach said at halftime, hey...it's working. At least so far.
FUCK the charge call!! my gawd.
Dude has clear alley to the hoop, but some asshole from 6 feet away (not even guarding said dude) decides and gets rewarded with the action of "hey, I'm going to go stand underneath where this dude is aiming to jump and land who is clearly already en route and has priority to the hoop"
Sadly, looks like G-W is running out of gas
UVa only down 2 now...perhaps G-W's fun (and ours) is quickly coming to an end here. But hey. You gotta love their effort, regardless.
Edit: On a 12-2 run in the second half, and now in the lead...
Fun while it lasted.
Refs took over the game.
Wow, that block by Colgate was awesome - TN guy had 6 inches on him!
I may or MAY have let out a "MAN'S GAME" in my office when that block happened.
Don't know about you, but today's action so far has me feeling pretty good about what transpired last night for our guys in the Maize & Blue.
Ferguson kid on Colgate looks like he's 14
Outside of that one year they had Dee Brown Bruce Weber's teams are not very good in the tournament.
They went to the elite 8 last year
Okay, two years
Well these upset bids are over
Anyone know what’s the deal with the guy from Colgate with “vision issues”?
He's blind, or wait... maybe that's the long snapper from usc.....
nm.....
Colgate isn't going away just yet...
it appears colgate running out of steam as well
it was fund to watch, maybe they'll catch a 2nd wind here and run it to the wire.
Who stole Ohio statehouse dome?
Haha, I know, right? Ugly as sin.
I had to look it up. Apparently that's on purpose. Wow. Ohio.
Aptly named Admiral Schofield took over and won the game for TN.
colgate is still in the hunt for a major stunner here......
That 3 was the dagger though, DAMN!
So KSU without Wade is going to be the big upset this year possibly.
Guess there are still some games but not a lot of big upsets thus far.
Big Ten doing well though.
There's been a 13 and a 12 so far. That's pretty typical with a quarter of the first round left.
Would be nice to see a big stunner like last year. Was looking like it might happen this afternoon.
Oh, Colgate, getting my hopes up like that...
Great to see that kid for Colgate smiling as he hit his last three. They played a great game, congrats to them.
Amazing imagine if they had their best player!
I'm rooting for all B1G teams except MSU. OSU has sucked for like four years and I like their new coach, I don't currently hate their basketball team. I rooted for Iowa and Minn even though those are 2/3 games I've gotten wrong so far, guess I underestimated the middle of the B1G and overestimated NMs ability to make free throws *sigh*.
They almost won the big ten last year
They were a paper tiger that massively outperformed expectation, I still don't count them as being good last year.
Little Pritchard guy for Oregon is really cocky.
I feel like UVa is either going to run roughshod over the rest of their bracket after winning their first game OR theirs struggles against GW portends another early exit. It doesn't feel like there's a middle ground.
What middle ground is there between winning and losing?
Davison on Pritchard that’s an interesting matchup right there
Bobby Hurley losing pretty good to his former team
