Admissions decisions for high school seniors went out about an hour ago. Congrats to our newly minted Wolverines. Anybody on the board get in or have a family member who got in?

Does Michigan not do rolling admissions? Are admissions now digital? Shit im old. Or is this the first day of admissions that are not early admissions. Am I speaking a foreign language to anyone younger than 35?

That's how I got in.  A cherry on top was I was in Florida on vacation and my Sparty brother called me to say the letter arrived... He didn't want me to get in, and go to MSU.  I asked if the envelope was thick and he said yes, so I knew. He opened it, and got the most underwhelming response, a barely inaudible "you got in".   Was great.  My son is applying to schools but not Michigan... he has a shot, because his grades are great but SAT was low, but they aren't requiring it...he wants to go to BU or Univ of Florida.  Ive asked him to apply anyway several times, I doubt he gets in but at least it's another contribution to my alma mater...

All “early action” received email yesterday with link to their portal, where they found out if accepted (historically about 15%), deferred (about 70%), or declined (15%). Those were the 2020 percentages, roughly, supposedly. The deferred will hear their outcome with “regular decision”, which they said would be “early April”.

I don't think my daughter has even submitted her application yet. Deadline is Tuesday.

Not that I could even afford to send her to U-M even if she got in.

Oh well. There's always community college.

I'm trying to get my duaghter to apply. She's been accepted to every psychology program she's applied to. Being out of state, we can't afford Michigan, but it would be awesome for her to have gotten accepted to the number 1 public university. With those going out today, is it now too late? My son is working hard on getting a soccer scholarship somewhere, but he said he would happily walk on there over any scholarship offer.

For the younger people here (or anyone knowledgeable on the subject), what are the odds of eventually getting in if you're deferred? Asking for a young family friend ...

My son got in early12 years ago and my daughter was wait listed 8 years ago She retook ACT added another recommendation and worried until about the end of April. After UM she did 3yrs in the Peace Corps and is now thinking about UM grad school. Don’t know about odds but a lot of her friends she thought would be shoe-ins didn’t even get wait listed. Seems like a crap shoot.

My daughter was accepted into the College of Engineering.  I am so excited and proud!  Thank goodness that she takes after her mother.  I doubt that I could get accepted today given all of this generation’s stellar applicants.
