I came here to snarkily post about reading the board and the old thread was only seven down, but this article actually has new (and horrifying!) information that the prior thread didn't, so this is actually a good post.  Still, maybe put that info in the title or OP to clarify why the added threat is worthwhile.

I think the Moms should leave this up, it provides both more information and newer information than the previous thread did. Also provides a link to an article which the other thread did not.

Dude had a video of Nassar assaulting a young patient. I’m speechless. He was an accomplice. Can this get any worse? The entire house needs to be demolished and rebuilt.

Who did Strampel report to?  Now that I think about it, I really have no idea how org charts work in academic environments.  Does the President of the University have hiring and firing power for Deans?

Funny you should say that because that is exactly the atittude of about 90% of the posters on RCMB. I was just blacklisted for nothing more than bringing up this very point. I also made mention of the WSJ article on the potential costs of this horrific incident. They seem to think that their beloved Izzo/Dantonio are above reproach because they had nothing to do with Nassar or his oversight. When I pointed out that they may have contributed to a culture of violence towards women that has existed for several years the mods blacklisted me.

"Investigators also uncovered pornographic videos on his work computer, as well as a video of Nassar performing his so-called "treatment" on a young female patient."

No wonder Nassar was able to fly under the radar for so long—he had an active accomplice at MSU.

but IF this is true, we've likely identified Nassar's biggest enabler.  Video of this????  Geez.

Have to figure they'll go for his home computer next.  One can only imagine, given what was found on the work computer.

when they raided some computers at MSU shortly after he went to work, calling the raid "grandstanding." There's a hint in several of the reports that the prosecutor saw obtaining the material as a "time sensitive" issue. You put this together with the DOE finding that there was a "culture of sexual intimidation" prevalent on the campus, you are within your rights to speculate that Simon had more than an inkling. . .

If they're openly trying to minimize the damage now, why wouldn't they quietly have tried to minimize it previously?

Wow. Just wow. This further dehumanizes the poor victim who not only was raped by Nassar but then had a porn video made of the assault and further ogled by at least one other creep, and possibly many more.

I think when the news broke yesterday that he was being arrested, we assumed that it was for failure to investigate/act in regards to what Nassar was doing, like what put the PSU higher ups in jail.

But this... is much worse.

but I called it last night.  Something on his computer...  JJ Denholander mentioned "birds of a feather" on twitter yesterday.  He might have been tipped off?

Well, what next?  The bad news is this draws attention away from Izzo and Mork and that sordid ordeal...  If this is what they can prove, I can't imagine the actual extent of the depravity there.  I've never seen a story quite like this.  Disgustingly, a lot of slappies are probably breathing a sigh of relief because they "didn't get Dantonio!  Woo hoo!  Go Green!!"

I can see the government trying to step in to make this go away at this point.  It has completely surpassed sports.  This is a national embarrassment.  Thanks MSU!   God, what a shit show.

The mental gymnastics that I have seen some MSU fans continue to engage in to deflect from this story, or to ignore it, or lessen the crimes, are truly disturbing. Jesus christ!

locked up forever.    Eveyone that covered this up allowed every count of abuse that happened.   It's essentially a crime against humanity at this point.

Both detroit papers have headlines stating that he had porn on his computer...I read the real story on CNN.com and Slate.com.

Are the Detroit News and Free Press working with MSU to cover this up now?  How can they not be covering this?

Truly sad and disturbing.

I hope they keep following the trail to find out how high up awareness of this situation really goes. I've wanted to believe this was primarily the act of a sick and deprived individual. Based on this revelation, it's hard to believe it's only two.

I wish they had put a non MSU academic in charge as MSU interim president. I have zero faith in Engler, the BOT and the Attorney General to do the right thing. They will deny and cover-up till the end of time.

For those of you on social networks I urge you to post links to these articles to try to continue to spread the word. Even without comment these are powerful.

Just as damning on MSU administration is the fact that--aside from these charges which are totally abhorrent albeit hard for anyone to ever find out about--is the fact that this guy is also quite apparently a first class asshole and misogynist. That could not have been a secret.

2 monsters in one administration--hardly seems coincidental. Something truly disgusting in that culture that needs to be ripped out root and branch.

I unfortunately voted for that asshole Engler who is instructing the University to try to avoid all legal responsibiliy. Do like Penn State - admit responsibility, pay the victims, fire everyone involved in the cover-up. I guess money trumps morals at MSU.

The Lansing State Journal also has a detailed article.
