Actual Michigan Monday (and not some 11W cheapo imitation) is up

There were some good one-liners, but it was actually a bit more on the analysis and less on the snark.

This week, my muse is Mark Dantonio, which means why even bother trying to do something new and exciting when slow death and boredom was once so effective at times.

I should just use an old, unsuccessful edition of Michigan Monday and rearrange the words and see if that works.

I bet it wouldn’t.

Good sh*t, Gerd.

Turns out, they didn’t need to run the ball because they threw it very well and also because the Spartans’ offense is only designed to fool children 5-8 years old. It says so right on the side of the box.

And the thrilling conclusion (spoiler alert):

Michigan will simply be playing for pride from here on out, and pride can do some amazing things when combined with skilled players and talented coaching.

I expect the Wolverines to look pretty good against Indiana, but then things get serious immediately after that.

I agree, especially with a first year starting QB (albeit a very talented one).  They haven't played a single road game of ANY difficulty.  Their combined road opponents record is 15-25, 6-22 in the B1G. None of those teams have beaten a team with a winning record, including Indiana!! They will be out of their comfort zone coming into AA!

I may be projecting, but I read this as less "dismissive of Michigan" and more "irritated Sparty did not step up and do Sparty things and mess with Michigan at least a little bit"....

Also, "my job made me go to Rutgers and watch sadness" irritation too maybe...

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised by this edition.  He finally put some effort into it this time (after giving himself a pass of course).  Led off with a zing at Harbaugh, before taking bigger zings at Dantonio, pretty much demonstrating his typical Ohio hatred for all things Michigan.  I commend him for his gracious tip-of-the-cap to Ronnie Bell, though, especially the humorous followup.

And he's got the analysis of where we stand, cannot argue.  They have the upper hand running the ball and again... cannot argue with him.

What piqued me in reading this installment, was the comment that The Game almost always comes down to who can run the ball better. This was said about the rivalry game with sparty, and we didn't even really try to run the ball all that much. The offensive staff saw weaknesses it could exploit, and did that perfectly, all without need to establish the run. Now, the school in ohio is a different animal than sparty, but maybe The Game sees a similar path for our offense. Still keeping my confidence balanced with a healthy dose of reality however.
