In 25-30 years, Which 2023 Player Would You Want as Head Coach?

It was almost 30 years between Harbaugh's graduation and his return to Michigan. Which player from the 2023-2024 season would you enjoy seeing coach the team?

This is of course assuming that a 67-year-old Sherrone Moore isn't coaching for his record 10th National Championship as a head coach.

The first name that popped into my head is Karsen Barnhart. The way he seemlessly shifted over from right tackle to right guard is still amazing to me. Imagine repping one position, left tackle, and then moving over to start at right tackle. Then, in the middle of the biggest game of the season (up to that point,) he moves inside.

He has 31 starts; nine at left tackle, two at left guard, three at right guard, and 17 at right tackle. Nobody knows our run game better than him.

Whoever is most suited to rep the university and replicate the culture of this wonderful year.

I do have the feeling JJ, Blake, Mikey, or one of our O-lineman will be back one day to coach. Cerebral leaders usually make good coaches.

Trick question because there are several that I would love but for this exercise:

JJ McCarthy because he reminds me of a certain former QB turned coach who just won a National Title. If you don't think HC McCarthy wouldn't have them singing For He's a Jolly Good Fellow, you're crazy.

There's a young guy whose just been a low-lever staffer, with a couple years before that as an unpaid intern. But he already has a 600+ page manifesto on coaching Michigan football. Who could be better prepared?

What? WHAT?

Probably one of the top reasons to love this team is there are so many great future coaches on the roster. It wouldn't surprise me if the best of them is some unheralded walk-on.

But the correct answer is Mike Sainristil.
