2021 WR Markus Allen de-commits from Michigan
September 9th, 2020 at 12:44 PM ^
Well this is surprising. I'm guessing he didn't like being part of such a big WR class?
September 9th, 2020 at 3:42 PM ^
I'm guessing he didn't like Schlissel's handling of everything.
September 9th, 2020 at 5:56 PM ^
Yea, maybe Schlissel will want to cancel AGAIN next fall.
September 9th, 2020 at 6:59 PM ^
My guess is that it has more to do with being committed to a football program that doesn’t want to play football.
September 10th, 2020 at 9:23 AM ^
Maybe. Unless he pulled a Ronnie Bell, he'd be lost on the depth chart though. It's hard to see him getting playing time over Dixon and Worthy, then competing for playing time with the following year where we have chances with 3 of the top 10 WR's in the class.
September 9th, 2020 at 12:45 PM ^
Not sure what happened here. Seems like he's been all in for a while and was one of the top WR targets for Gattis, so idk if he was processed or what happened
September 9th, 2020 at 1:48 PM ^
Possibly processed. Possibly he hadn't been ready for this season or preparing and getting better as staff expected him to. Who knows, staff could have seen things coming and just cooled down to let him seek the love elsewhere so process without having to process him. Too much unknown and doesn't matter, he's going elsewhere.
September 9th, 2020 at 3:18 PM ^
That's a pretty big assumption to make. It's not hard to look and see that he has put up pretty big stats early this season.
8.3.0September 9th, 2020 at 3:40 PM ^
Based on his twitter, looks like he may not have been getting love from the coaches. That screams processed.
September 9th, 2020 at 5:35 PM ^
I was referring more so to the other poster saying Allen probably didnt put in work in the offseason or get any better.
8.3.0September 9th, 2020 at 12:45 PM ^
What a fart face!
September 9th, 2020 at 12:48 PM ^
Excuse me, watch your mouth!
September 9th, 2020 at 5:23 PM ^
We say "toot" in my house, sir.
September 9th, 2020 at 5:26 PM ^
Watch out for the COVID fecal plume!
September 9th, 2020 at 12:47 PM ^
And he's opening it alllllllllllllll the way back up.
September 9th, 2020 at 12:52 PM ^
Based on his previous tweets it seems like Michigan wasn't showing him as much love as he wanted.
September 9th, 2020 at 12:52 PM ^
This took me by surprise. Good luck markus
September 9th, 2020 at 12:53 PM ^
Pure speculation, but he committed before Dixon and Worthy did, so maybe he was given the cold shoulder? I for one thought he was underrated, so a bit bummed. Not worried about the WR room one bit though....
Also wonder if this affects Rod Moore.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:02 PM ^
Don't forget Andrel Anthony. Michigan put on a late push to get him too
No matter what the coaches may be saying to him, Allen's position in the class and on the roster looks a lot different than it did when he committed.
September 9th, 2020 at 3:12 PM ^
Kinda seems like he wants to be the star receiver and play immediately too. Doesn't seem like he wanted to sit a year, and potentially get passed up(reminds me of branham this year). I just hope this doesn't look bad in a few years if it turns out we chose others over him, and he balls out (Aj Dillon).
September 9th, 2020 at 5:32 PM ^
I'm hoping the same but from what I've seen/heard Michigan didn't choose anyone over AJ Dillon.
BC's "be the man now at RB" pitch just resonated more than whatever Michigan put out there that included some mention of defense at some point.
September 10th, 2020 at 8:43 AM ^
If you want to gently push someone out of your recruiting class, there's no better way than suggesting a position change that wasn't discussed before he committed.
September 10th, 2020 at 4:13 PM ^
True but IIRC this was a "hey, or maybe defense!" early then all RB pitch when that didn't help. Based on the tea leaves, bone throwing and insider stuff anyway. Who knows!
Webb has said repeatedly they wanted Dillon all the way through. Sometimes you just lose, even in New England.
September 9th, 2020 at 12:53 PM ^
Understandable. Looking at our depth chart, there's a lot of names to be excited about and he could be lost in the mix. Also looking at next years potential that we seemingly have decent chances on landing(Burton, Morris, Brown), that lowers his potential playing time even more.
September 9th, 2020 at 12:54 PM ^
Good luck to him. A little surprising, but I get feeling overlooked and don't blame him for wanting to look elsewhere.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:02 PM ^
I wonder if there's an issue between him & the staff about getting the surgery done on his torn labrum now vs later.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:10 PM ^
I didn’t know he had a torn labrum. I tore mine as well and it’s not an easy recovery process. That shoulder still bothers me if I lay on it for too long, and I had surgery 7 years ago.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:42 PM ^
If you are sleeping on it, that's the problem. I had surgery and my surgeon told me never sleep on it again. Sleep on your back or sides with your arms down.
September 9th, 2020 at 2:31 PM ^
One of my cousin's kids was playing minor league baseball and on a nice trajectory when he had that injury. Effectively career-ending.
September 9th, 2020 at 3:31 PM ^
Obviously not career-ending, but didn't Rashan Gary also have a torn labrum at UM? As someone who had surgery for this as well, I thought it explained some things.
September 9th, 2020 at 5:04 PM ^
I mistakenly read that as torn labia and laughed. I'm the worst.
September 9th, 2020 at 5:16 PM ^
My wife was an ER nurse about 30 years ago when a bride came in on her wedding night because the groom had ripped her clit ring out with his teeth. He’s the worst.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:05 PM ^
Godspeed, young man.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:10 PM ^
Wonder how this affects teammate Rod Moore. I really liked Allen (and Moore) quite a bit. Can't say that i feel "Oh well, opens up another spot for someone maybe better" about this one. Darn.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
He heard Maizen talking shit on 3* recruits.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
Best of luck to him...
September 9th, 2020 at 1:29 PM ^
Hope he finds a good landing spot, going to be a lot of churn in this recruiting class and it's going to be a long ride until Signing Day.
September 9th, 2020 at 1:49 PM ^
FUCK YOU ALL!
September 9th, 2020 at 2:02 PM ^
We have really had a terrible string of bad news in recruiting the past few months, starting with Dillinger and Rocco. Allen seemed to be really tight with JJ too, which makes things a bit more confusing. Rivals did just bump him up to a 4 star, maybe he is getting more attention from other top tier programs. We really need to finish this class strong. What once was probably going to end up being Harbaugh's best class is looking more and more mediocre by the day. Love the pieces we have currently committed but the momentum is going in the wrong direction.
September 9th, 2020 at 2:08 PM ^
Oh yeah, sure. And I get banned.
September 9th, 2020 at 2:13 PM ^
Maizen v20.20
September 9th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
Meh. In the end, JH has to win with the pieces he assembles. Complaining we don’t recruit like OSU is not going to fix it. Beating OSU on the field is a big start. Need to find a way to win. It’s that simple.
September 9th, 2020 at 6:18 PM ^
wah wah, what a whiny mediocre bitch you are
September 9th, 2020 at 2:23 PM ^
Schlissel happened.
September 9th, 2020 at 6:09 PM ^
Fo’ shizzle!
September 9th, 2020 at 2:55 PM ^
thanks obama
September 9th, 2020 at 3:08 PM ^
Regardless of why, this is just another example of wasted time trying to recruit Ohio. It’s so disappointing.
He plays in one of the best conferences in Ohio and looks like a beast. I hope it wasn’t UMs choice to look elsewhere.
September 9th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
That's a fairly big loss.
September 9th, 2020 at 3:29 PM ^
Get ready for more of this if you don’t fire Schlissel
