After just a 56 day offseason due to Michigan Baseball's generational run to the College World Series, it is about time to open another season.

And as usual it kicks off at U-M Soccer Stadium with the Michigan Women.

Coach Jennifer Klein is entering her 2nd season at Michigan. Michigan went .500 last season for the second consecutive year, but it was a much better .500 than 2017 which was the one that got Coach Greg Ryan fired. The offense was improved in year 1, Michigan beat both OSU and MSU and the Wolverines qualified for the 8-team B1G Tournament for the first time since 2016.

Michigan returns 8 players who started double digit games last year. The top two goal scorers on the team both return, juniors Nicki Hernandez and Sarah Stratigakis. The defensive side returns 3 excellent pieces in 5th year senior Sura Yekka, senior Captain Jada Dayne (daughter of Ron Dayne) and sophomore Janiece Joyner. In between the pipes it'll be the UWS Player of the Year Hillary Beall.

Michigan was picked to finish 5th in the B1G in 2019. This team has some really solid pieces and should be back in the NCAA Tournament this season.

It all starts tomorrow at 7:30pm when Michigan takes on Marshall.

Here's to another championship-filled season for the Maize & Blue in 2019-20 ?
