Go Blue!
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
Louisville defense looks legit, Michigan could never get in their offense and comfortable. I think this was needed though, there was waaay too much hype after Atlantis.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
Long season - they weren’t going to win all of their games. It’s a loss to a good team on the road. They’ll bounce back.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
Nice take by Z
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
Shut the fuck up vitale. Time for you to retire.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
2013 never happened you cheating scumbags
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
According to the NCAA, nobody won more games in the Tournament than Michigan in 2013. King of the Mountain.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
If Nwora is unathletic, what are our guys? Hes absolutely dogged them tonight
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Right? He made Livers look pedestrian on both ends
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
Livers blocked 3 of his shots and contested all the others. He's a fine shooter, but 22 points on 9/23 from the field and 3/5 FT. Meh.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Yea I think that scouting nugget about not being athletic was a bit dramatic. Is he Zion or a pogo stick dunker? No. The kid is obviously athletic.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
Reminds me of the Texas Tech game
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
We need a go to guy. We haven’t had one in a while.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Too many negative doomsayers on this site tonight. How soon you forget the Bahamas. Good grief. Cut the team some slack. They're playing in a tough venue on the road against the #1 team. We played very good defense most of the game. Yes, the offense was bad. This will be a good learning experience forcthe team that will help them later on. Chill out.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
Seriously...this had been an atrocious game and yet...a couple open looks go down, take away a few shitty turnovers it's a 6 pt game.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Spot on.
Take away the hand-checking and it's a game.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
They need a second audio program when Dickie V is on.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:53 PM ^
You could watch in Spanish.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
Double post
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:28 PM ^
Louisville honors 3 players from that 2013 team at halftime. We won’t even put the final four banners back up.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
ACC basketball is like SEC football. There is nothing off limits
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:30 PM ^
43 points has to be our worst scoring effort in forever
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
Had 44 against Tex Tech last year
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
That was fucking ugly. Let’s hope we learn something. We are not as good as we thought we were.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
FFS the team will be fine. It’s a long season but this team is well ahead of schedule with a metric ton of FIXABLE issues (I’ll grant you there are some issues that won’t get fixed this year).
You've got to grow from an experience like this and Howard will help them do so. Show up and beat Iowa. Let’s win the next 5 before going to msu.
Go Blue! Tough night tonight but learn and grow.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
Louisville hadn't played anyone!
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
Is the blog going to refuse to talk about basketball now too?
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
Not impressed with Louisville. That's a weak-ass #1. Pioneer HS would have beaten us tonight.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
They got home court officiating and scored 58.
Neutral court and no hand-checking, we'll win.
See you in March, cheaters.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
That was probably the least-worthy game to complain about officiating that I can remember.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:54 PM ^
Least worthy is strong, but I see your point. Mine was, they played hands-on D on every player, every possession. The guidance to officials is...
- When a defensive player keeps a hand or forearm on an opponent, it is a personal foul.
- When a defensive player puts two hands on an opponent, it is a personal foul.
- When a defensive player continually jabs by extending his arm(s) and placing a hand or forearm on the opponent, it is a personal foul.
- When a defensive player uses an arm bar to impede the progress of a dribbler, it is a personal foul.
Did you see that called tonight? If so, I missed it.
That's all I'm saying. It's either a rule or it isn't. Tonight, apparently, it wasn't.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
Yea I see where you're coming from...there's games where something "like that" gets allowed, mostly on one side and they use it to their advantage. And when the other team does something similar it's an auto-whistle. Once you notice it and catch on it's very frustrating to live with.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:41 PM ^
You got it. And to your point, the rest of the guidance to officials is to call it early to establish the rules for the game. They didn't.
Only Duke gets to do it in March. I really believe we'll see this team again. And I think we'll get them next time on equal footing and equal rest.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
And without hand-checking, we held them to 58. Our D was very good tonight, just overshadowed.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
We only made 15 baskets all night. Can we do any worse. That’s just 1 embarrassing stat from tonight’s game. If Johns never sees the court again will be okay by me. He was a top 100 kid coming out of high school. What happen to him..
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
Can’t win em all.
Almost impossible to win on the road against the #1 team with home cooking.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:37 PM ^
No sense giving Louisville any credit for their defensive effort, right?
Ran guys off the 3 line, contested virtually every shot, rebounded, and made Michigan look pretty bad.
December 3rd is it? It’s fine.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:41 PM ^
Whatever happened to our back door cuts? Louisville was living at the 3-point line on D.
Burning their ass in humiliating Princeton fashion a couple of times would have backed them off.
December 3rd, 2019 at 10:10 PM ^
This also. Chris mack came in with a plan to defend us and...It. Worked.
Of course we missed shots and played poor. But to not give credit to the defense causing us many frustrations and likely the jitters to not shoot open looks, would be wrong.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^
If Wagner was not a liability, even just neutral, it would have been a game at the end.
He needs to spend time with the basketball equivalent of the dong machine, and get used to long arms and quick hands flailing at him on defense.
December 3rd, 2019 at 9:51 PM ^
How much does playing uptight cause players to shortarm shots and not play up to their potential ?
Was this on Louisville's defense or in UM's head ?
December 3rd, 2019 at 11:00 PM ^
For some reason, I was downvoted for pointing out it’s hard to win on the road against the #1 team, lol.
Some here are just ridiculous.
