I have doubts this one will stick as you said. There are and will be some better opportunities for him. Nice pick up for Kentucky. I have thought he would end up at MSU until their recent implosion.

It looks to be an act to make an announcement he wants this to be done with. However, there is a reason UM did not put the full court press on, especially given our need - hell, all teams always have a need for top OLmen - and if we really want him, UM, along with many schools will definitely step up. This, imo, is the first volley, and yes I did hear about the injuries so that could be telling.

oline guys are so hard to judge. Thought his tape would be better. Makes no sense that the top Michigan kid doesn't have better offers and picks Kentucky.

PSU originally had commitments from Lavert Hill khaleke Hudson n Quinn nordin n they all flipped... In case u get injured or don't test well n lose value commit n u can always upgrade to a better offer

Not sure what is too confusing here. OL is a tough position to evaluate. Clearly M isn't as high on him as the services.

I bet Hoke would have been all over this kid if he were still here.

McCall plays a position that we might not take in this class, the staff thought he was overrated, and he may have questionable academics. Add in a recent major injury. When have you ever heard of the best player in Michigan not having committable Michigan or Ohio State (no offer at all) offers. Heck, I don't even know if his MSU offer was committable.

He basically said this had to do with the fact that Michigan is only looking at tackle prospects now, and McCall's a G. He didn't say anything about academics, but as a rule Sam refuses to comment when academics are an issue.

For all the chatter over us not getting top michigan players - it sounds like the coaches like Hayes and Mayfield better than McCall.  The ACL injury could be a concern, and it sounded like McCall said grades were a concern too - but we are prob going to end up with OL from MI.

I am more currious if that is TOO Many OL from MI.  We have a small class - and it doesnt sound like we are taking at the OL spot this year.  If we keep Emil, get Hayes and Mayfield - that is one opening.  Neither Tackle sounds like a guy that wont have to redshirt.  Can we afford to take the 400 lbs Aussie who we need to develop then?  Or do we need to look at one of the highly ranked Tampa buys or someone more ready to play if we need them?
