2015 QB/WR/DB Kenterius Womack

Submitted by Maison Bleue on

He was recently followed on the twitters by Coach Partridge and Coach Singletary. Can't find him on any recruiting sites, but he was offered recently by Syracuse. Preferred Walk-On? Late 2015 flyer? MOAR attrition? What does it all mean?

Anyway, his Hudl film looks pretty solid:LINK

What say you, MgoBloggers?

It works on this end at least (running it in Chrome, not sure if that makes the difference for anyone trying to view it). The scale is a little small, but then don't know if Hudl lets you change it. Actually, I had thought that you generally couldn't embed directly from Hudl, but they could have either changed something on the site recently or there's a magic "Embed" button that I obviously missed.

Actually really does look decent. Very fast at 6'3, good arm strength, and on defense he certainly likes to hit and has good ball skills. Didn't get a lot on film in terms of cover skills. Hard to say what the staff likes him as, if they are indeed looking at a preferred walk on spot for him. Could be an OW, a speedster who could throw on a trick play. Could be a big, fast, DB hybrid role. Between 2015 and 2016 offers from this staff, it really doesn't matter if they are a 5, 3, or 0 star. You gotta love this staff's film analysis and trust their ability to find a good player from any corner of the country, despite what Mike Farrell may judge the kid to be.

I was just down in Prattville, AL this past weekend to play at the Capitol Hill courses of the Robert Trent Jones Trail (Prattville is of course home to Keith Washington).  Great courses, friendly staff, and greens that will confuse the hell out of you.

In my completely uneducated opinion he looks like a pretty good athlete. Give him a preferred walk on and let him learn a position for a couple years. He could be a player that contributes as an upperclassman

LINK - They claim he's working on setting up a visit to Michigan.

I dunno, he's an interesting prospect. I don't think he really throws the ball well enough to stick at QB at the next level. He has pretty good feet, but doesn't really stand out in any area as an athlete. Decently quick, decently good in and out of cuts, decently fast, but not really good or great in any one area.

Harbaugh has signed guys and given them a shot at QB and moved them later (to safety, to WR, etc). That could be something to look at here. I dunno if he's a great option, but he's an option. Sounds like his grades are in order and everything, just played for a 5-5 team in rural southern Alabama and went under the radar. I'd say PWO, but with an offer from 'Cuse, I don't think that'd be enough to actually land him.

yep have to really be feeling michigan to pass on other scholarships and agree to out-of-state tuition costs as walk-on and all that.  so im guessing coaches are considering adding him to the 85 (if adding at all).

i actually think he made some great throws and looks to have solid arm (though i only watched like 3 mins and all were first reads).  hes also obviously athletic (though def not denard), decent quicks and long speed for what looks like legit 6'3".

bottom line, hes another athletic, versatile football player.  and harbaugh loves versatile competitors who may be able to help at various spots - roll the ball out each spring / fall and work to find a spot to help team win games

Let him play DB or receiver. Be great to have an all 6'+ D backfield. No matter how athletic and fast, the 5' 9" &10 guys have a hard time stopping the big receivers from making catches.

Im not 100% sure what the difference is between gray and blue shirt but if he wants to come to michigan and we have the room to take him, it is hard to pass up an athlete like that when you look at the way the roster has been built over the last couple of years. Just like grant perry who was underrated and overlooked has a chip on his shoulder I think this guy would carry a huge chip on his shoulder and come in and try to out work everyone who was recruited in front of him. Plus harbaugh was known to take flyers on guys while out at stanford, he wasnt apposed to taking guys who were unrated or had just two stars.

Hopefully this isn't him. This occured in the next state over (TN, not AL where he lives) in July, and the perpetrator is described as being 20-years-old at that time. A 20-year-old HS senior isn't unheard of. Its really the name that caught my attention, which can't be very common:

"Kentarius Womack, 20, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and released on a $25,000 bond."

Get this wannabe reporter bullshit out of here.  You don't think the coaches look into these kids? It would suck to be a kid excited to be recruited by Michigan, check their blog and see this shit. Kenterius doesn't deserve this unfounded speculation.

Your link is a 20 year old in a different state with a buzz cut.  You can't grow dreads in 7 months dumbshit. Fuck you
