2 catches by Jaxson Smith-Njigba

They basically refused to show replays on 2 of his “receptions” on the crucial drive to end the 3rd qtr. Looked to me on the first the ball hit the ground and ended up in his other hand and on the other he flat out dropped the ball.

Like I said they refused to show a replay on both plays with the game hanging in the balance, any clarification???

Our beat writers tweeted that they did show the replay of his 4th down catch on the scoreboard and while he temporarily lost control of the ball, it never hit the ground so it was a good catch. You’d like to see them review probably to be certain during a 4th down, but they got the call right according to those guys. Also and more importantly, we just freaking won big. Against Ohio State. To win the East. Why are we talking about the refs?

Be mad at Fox and their crappy broadcast for never showing replays on crucial plays. But naw man, no need for the "receptions" and all that, our beat writers were even saying they were catches.

Go enjoy it

Why are all you guys answering my thread and telling me to quit complaining. I didn’t complain or even mention the refs. Was just asking for clarification as the tv broadcast didn’t show a replay and they didn’t appear to be clear receptions. This is after all a blog to discuss you know Michigan football and the games. If you guys didn’t want to discuss the plays why click on the thread

I wanted a replay of the early throw to Donovan Edwards that was ruled incomplete and Fox never showed it.  I am pretty sure they made the correct call (and duh....we won!!!!!) but I at least wanted to see how close it was.

I didn't think the calls on the two catches you mentioned were wrong.  I honestly didn't see much to complain about either way.  Holding was erratically called as always on both sides.  Maybe we got away with some grabbing at CB but their guys made circus catches anyway.

As others have said, people in the stadium said both looked good on the replay.

I'd like to point out how great our corners and safeties played today. Moten and Moore both made great tackles in space. And our corners were in contact all day.

Great wide outs are going to make plays. Our dudes made it really hard on them and put em on the ground right after the catch.

Still on cloud 9. Go Blue!

His ridiculous 1 hand catch around our defenders back was not a catch, it hit the ground...

that said, it was a clear PI on us.

Who cares, we won.

Fuck Ohio

Not gonna lie - even though that catch could hardly have come at a worse time (3rd and 19!), I wasn't even all that mad in the moment, just impressed, because it was a damn fine catch against very good coverage

Still, eff that loser and I hope he and his fellow scrubs had a long tearful bus ride back to their shithole campus.

For once, the officiating actually felt neutral.  A lot of holds on our DEs and a few false starts that didn’t happen, but we had a few potential holds on runs that they let the go.

I'm amazed at the lack of replays by Fox.  Every single football game shows replays of almost every single play, yet in a game like this they failed to show the most basic replays on key plays.  I mean was this Fox's fourth string broadcast team? Is this the 1970's?  They should be ashamed of themselves for the shitty broadcast.  I guess they were too busy hyping the game and reminding us of Harbaugh's poor record against them.  Furthermore, it did seem like the booth wasn't very active.  But it's great to just say that it didn't matter, we win, Theee Ohio loses.  On to the B1G Championship!

A) doesn’t matter

B) I just watched this (recorded) and at one point in the 3rd quarter I was thinking “this is sort of a makeup for 2016.” Granted OSU shot themselves in foot a number of times with false starts but the refs actually CALLED holding calls on OSU. We even got a gimme, which never happens, and they didn’t call shit on Michigans OL all game long. OSU has a lot more gripes against the refs/replay crew than Michigan does. Happily it’s for the first time in what feels like 30 years. It feels good to get a majority of the calls go our way.

I watched games on CBS and ABC after the Michigan game. It sure was refreshing to see replays after most plays, some of them from multiple angles if there was anything interesting about the play. It's like they understand that fans are interested in what actually happens on the field.
