#1 (Maryland) vs #2 (UM) in Women Lax in Ann Arbor Tomorrow at 12:30

Tomorrow, UM's Women's Lacrosse ranked #2, is playing against Maryland, ranked #1.  I changed my travel plans to get to Ann Arbor early enough to see the game. The weather will be less than ideal, but who cares.  Come and support the team.  Hannah Nielson has done an amazing job.  It shows how a good coach can make a huge difference.

The ranking is the highest in program history as the Wolverines are out to an 11-0 start and just two wins away from tying the its best-ever start; U-M went 13-0 to start the 2019 season. The Wolverines are one of three undefeated teams left in the nation as No. 7 Loyola (9-0) and No. 16 Yale (8-0) have not lost a contest.

I posted in the posbang thread - good goalie , lots of scorers, defense, but what seems better than ever is there  faceoff specialist. # 22 Montemarano is making a huge difference giving them many more possessions.

Visit me in the aisle at Sec. 7.

Montemarano must be a stud, if she takes the draw and then moves up to attack. Sounds like a very athletic team, overall, if we defend well and clear the ball effectively. Love to have a good goalie.

Missed the game yesterday, but I get the sense that it was a defensive battle, 6-8, probably affected by the elements? Kinda heartbreaking to lose to a good Maryland team at home, but it seems Michigan showed their mettle. No shame in battling the #1 team down to the end in a tight, physical game. Maybe there’s a moral victory there that will be useful for a tournament run later on?
