Denard: The Happening
[Ed: BUMPED SO HARD]
Earlier this week, BlockM made a video request for a spoof on the trailer for The Happening, implying that Denard is, in fact, The Happening. I saw the thread and thought, I have a lot of free time this week and that sounds fun, chores be damned. I am by no means a professional video editor, but I've done something like this once before and figured I'd take a shot. Here's my shot:
(WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY! AND FULL SCREEN!)
Hope you all enjoy it. And I hope this is close to what you had in mind, BlockM. Some notes:
1. I made the video unlisted on YouTube to try to avoid it getting taken down for copyright issues. You can only reach it through a link, so here's the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAGM5c5wsWY
2. If you think there should be any changes, let me know. The video is easily altered.
3. Mods: I wasn't sure whether to put this on the Board or in the Diaries, but I didn't want it to get buried on the board and be missed by anyone who wanted to see it, e.g. the person who requested it be made. Feel free to move it if you must.
4. GO BLUE!!!

That was pretty damn good and I haven't stopped smiling in amazement since the first time I watched it.

I am the owner of the domain name SHOELACEROBINSON.com. Curious to know if any of you Michigan fans would be interested in purchasing it?
I purchased to the rights to this domain years ago for a totally unrelated reason... I used to work for a motivator named John Robinson who used to wear crazy shoelaces, it was his gimmick. Anyway, he moved onto something else and we took down the actual page, but domain is still there.
Being a college football fan, I realized I might have something when Denard Robinson exploded onto the scene early in the season.
Anyway, not sure if this is the place to promote this, but if you are interested in SHOELACEROBINSON.com please email me back [email protected]. Thanks!

Cool story, but that domain was created 5 days ago, bro:

Not only was that extremely awesome, but it was extremely incredibly amazingly awesome and amazing. I just want to posbang you all night long, no matter how homoerotic that sounds.

This is awesome.

September 17th, 2010 at 2:24 AM ^
really well done. Good shit.
September 17th, 2010 at 4:26 AM ^
The best part was how all the little things were perfect--the timing, the credits, etc. Clearly a labor of love and devastatingly effective.
Peace
Ty

Amazing. Thanks.
The vid of Kelly's frown was icing on the cake.
Well played!

I think the best part was the voice over of the asian reporter!
True work of art! Submit it to Sundance...

Incredible
September 17th, 2010 at 6:49 AM ^
That will be a new classic, sure to be replayed throughout the season...be sure to make a "happening II" later on in the season when you have more highlights!!
September 17th, 2010 at 7:15 AM ^
Just thrilling! I am thrilled!
I see a downside, though. How do you expect to make a two hour movie with Denard doing everything thirty or forty times faster than you had planned it out?
September 17th, 2010 at 8:18 AM ^
I will be playing this video at the tailgate - over and over!

the mods have seen fit to relocate this in it proper place, as instructed. Awesomesauce, man.
The Heismanification made me nearly spit coffee, then fist-pump a couple times.
September 17th, 2010 at 8:37 AM ^
That was AWESOME!!!! Loved it!
September 17th, 2010 at 8:47 AM ^
Aside from all the possible copyright issues, I would love to see this on the big screen at the stadium before one of our home games, OSU or Iowa. The crowd would get absolutely pumped. Sick vid.
September 17th, 2010 at 8:52 AM ^
next up would be "Denard: the Last Turfbender?" "Denard: the last Anklebender?" "Denard: the last South Bend bender?"
I just hope he's unbreakable.

Thanks again for all the comments; all you dudes sure know how to compliment another dude. That's why I love this place (slight homo).
By the way, this video got picked up by Scout's OSU message board
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=145&f=3154&t=6381322
They think we're all delusional, but eh, so what, I am delusional. AND IT FEELS SO GOOD.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:43 AM ^
I read some of the comments on the OSU board. Its funny how they are attacking all of the UM fans for the DENARD ROBINSON!!! hype, but really it was the likes of ESPN and other TV media outlets that are creating it. I think we all understand that it has only been two games and winning in the B10 has yet to be seen, but still nobody has been better than DENARD ROBINSON!!! this year. So bring on the hype monster, OSU fans are just pissed that it took TP so long to produce.

A tantalizing thriller leaving the viewer wanting more. Two thumbs up, sir.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:08 AM ^
Outstanding.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:41 AM ^
Alright, it's the morning after, and I can say definitively that this video does not get any less epic after repeated views. I've successfully downloaded it to save on my computer and converted it to save on my iPod. I must never be without this video.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:42 AM ^
This is just all kinds of awesome and full of so much win! I want to watch if before every game!
September 17th, 2010 at 9:43 AM ^
That was really cool. I watched it multiple times already. I appreciate our obssessed and talented fanbase.
Recommendations [because you requested.] -- 1) I think you should put "This film is not yet rated."; and 2) it's difficult to see the blue "Warning", although i like the idea of putting it in blue, it's just too hard to see the word ... I had to actually stop the film to see what it said.

Great job finding some way to redeem The Crappening. I can honestly say that was top 5 worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

Is full of pure, unadultered WIN!
With that said, I feel that GERG was slighted in the credits: he should have been credited as the head hair stylist. That is all.
Also, full of WIN! Don't know if I mentioned that.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:28 AM ^
That just crushed the preseason hype videos.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:00 AM ^
I love the "shut the windows and the doors!" as Robinson sneaks through the right side of the line on the 87 yard run. This video is amazing. Amazing.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:11 AM ^
I think it's time to retire the internet. mdoc has won.
Period.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:14 AM ^
that it was by Rich Rodriguez who created the 2008 and 2009 seasons. This shows improvement in his work. Completely opposite direction that M. Night Shyamalan is going with his work.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
Up at 6 am and watched this - a smile will be on my face the entire day. Awesome, and thanks for brightening my day!
September 17th, 2010 at 11:46 AM ^
I love the part where Rodriguez says "run". The build-up to the Heisman pose was fantastic.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:47 AM ^
As we say in French - Formidable!
September 17th, 2010 at 12:01 PM ^
