ALL OF THIS. ALL OF THIS.
Measured response I rarely post here, but I really appreciate yours. I feel it was quite a measured, thoughtful response. I would also add this: in the current internet and social media world, with this thread being a prime example, perry has been judged and been subject to plenty of commentary about his character and what should happen with his future by people who have no idea what happened, or what kind of young man he is, except for what is reported in the press.

Like many first offenders, especially young ones, the prosecutor agreed to a deal whereby he completes certain terms, including probation, and as long as he doesn't screw up again, he's fine. I can guarantee you, if there was more to this, the charges would've been more excessive, and then Jim would've had to take more drastic action.

I would also place a significant bet that his punishment from Jim is more than we will ever know. I knew several players during my time at UM (2000-2004) that had to deal with Lloyd's punishments for infractions, that he would never report to the press, and that were significant and really made them work to stay on the team. While I can't guarantee that Jim does the same, he follows the same line from bo in how he runs the program, and I would guess that perry has had to work his butt off to get back.

I hope that this YOUNG man made a mistake, he has learned a hard lesson, this lesson will be "iron sharpening iron," and he can move forward with his life and with making positive contributions to our team, both on the field and off

problems with alignment

if you look at the first video - UFR Defense 9, to the biggest, clearest problem is with the alignment.  If you look at the play right before it starts, there are seven Michigan defenders lined up to the side oppsite the strength of the formation.  Thus, to the left of the center, you have 3 offensive lineman to block our two down lineman and ezeh.  then the center can take out mouton, and expecially with the receiver in motion, you have no other defenders even in the area with cam gordon slanting to the side with two receivers and Kovacs playing on the line on the weak side.  In other words, WE HAVE FOUR PLAYERS OUT TO THE RIGHT AWAY FROM THE STRENGTH OF THE LINE TO COVER TWO WIDE RECEIVERS.  of course the result was going to be a touchdown.  GERG, please explain to me how we can be lined up so utterly, completely wrong

at my usual gathering of michigan fans at the only good sports bar in uptown new orleans, our reaction to the gordon interception was the same - three of us yelling ou tplease don't fumble repeatedly until he was tackled....

More yards rushing than passing

sounds like Bo-style Michigan Football to me.  If Bo were here, he would've been pleased with what he saw, especially when, consistently on third down, everyone in the stadium knew what was coming, yet it couldn't be stopped by a defense that returned 8 starters.  Why?  Because we were tougher, we were in better shape, and we imposed our will on them.  And the best part for me is that RichRod was not pleased with the lack of big plays and expects better blocking by the line and the receivers, especially at the second and third level.

demetrius...

FWIW, I don't know if things have changed, but last night at the M Club of Greater Detroit's fall kickoff dinner at the junge center, sam webb spoke and indicated that the paperwork situation with demetrius was solved and that he would be making it for the UConn game.  Of course I trust Tom more, but that's what webb said last night....
