There are...
days and a wakeup until Elliott Mealer and the rest of the Michigan Wolverines follow Brock Mealer through the tunnel and under The Banner.
Will there be any dry eyes in the Big House?
No, there will not.
What will happen after this entrance?
The Wolverines will be unleashed upon the Huskies and...they...will...destroy...them.
I wonder how many people know about Brock. If I didn't spend hours a day on MGoBlog, I don't think I would know who he was. I'm sure they'll give some background on it before though.
I completely agree with this. It is an awesome story that he'll be able to do this, but I'm a little afraid that it will go slightly underappreciated by the fans as a whole.
I think even most casual fans are aware of the Mealer family story, maybe not of Brock's inspirational quest to walk out and touch the banner. That said, I would hope that U of M would put together a short video highlighting the significance of this moment. Also, enough people will know about it and tell their neighbors should they not know.
My parents, season ticket holders of 20+ years, would probably have no idea who Brock is unless I told them.
I'm going to assume, since the University of Michigan is awesome and what not, that they have this planned out pretty well. It would be a shame if Brock led the team onto the field and not every single person in attendance understood the magnitude of the moment.
I hope the Big Ten Network picks up on this story and runs it continuously in the weeks running up to the opener.
... when OTL did this story, , before i saw it i didn't have any idea either. ill embed it for anyone else who doesnt know
You can't watch the Brock Mealer videos without respect for these young men, for Mike Barwis and for Rich Rodriguez culture of family values.
It will be amazing to see him lead the team out of th tunnel.
It's too bad the blind Michigan fans can't see how dedicated this coaching staff truly is.
Or just speculation at this point?
If I have to pick him up and carry him on my shoulders, he's leading the team out.
That said, he can and will walk out, which is good, because he is an enormous man-beast of a human being and if I picked him up, my spine would telescope.
Buckeye fans than there were an hour before.
... Izzo knew something, or lucked out.
Dan Gilbert is left holding a steaming pile of sh!t.
And this story is more important, thanks for the update on Brock Mealer!
that's it. I dig 'em.
The "fire up" video for the UConn game should just be the Brock Mealer story.
Just thinking what his entrance is going to be like gives me chills...
His story is quite possibly the most inspirational story i have ever heard
and carry him off after a win.
Brock is gonna hoist Ellioit on HIS shoulders after a win :)
I can't write eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for every one of these posts, can I?
We gotta get us some practice going on soon.
...31 days and a wakeup before the first day of preseason practice.
Well done MGoShoe as always!
For those of us watching on ESPN/ABC it is my sincere hope that the story is more then simply relayed and that the emotion and essence are captured and shared. I can only imagine the electricity in the stadium at this moment live.
Brock Mealer leading the team through the tunnel is a win for the Mealer and Michigan family. The Big House will be a bit dusty for a few moments such that I'll be sure to pack a kleenex or some such medium to suffice said dustiness.
We'll release the hounds on UConn. To quote General Patton (as per George C. Scott):
"We have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit and the best men in the world. You know, by God I actually pity those poor bastards we’re going up against. By God, I do....We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're gonna go through him like crap through a goose!"
Is this offseason ever going to end!?
yeah.
I recently read when exactly but I can't be sure. I think in 57 days.
Thinking about Brock leading the team out against UCONN just gives me chills, and it's only July...goodness, I can't wait to just yell for 3+ hours on Sept. 4th.
Just when UConn has the ball. And Pregame. And Post-game. And celebrating good plays by our team. And to cause false starts by Uconn..
Dammit. Just not when we're trying to run plays
Of course of course. I just figure we'll be scoring so fast that I won't even have time to stop yelling. I will be yelling the day of the State game even more than usual (i.e., after completing the thing they call the LSAT).
