Game Day Condos - who's gonna buy one?
New condos across from the Big House are approved by the Planning Commission and will be voted on by the City Council. Who's putting the first deposit down??

Only if it's named Del Boca Vista III. Also, what is a Commishion?
It's a cushion that a commission sits on. Duh.
Sort of a padded board?
but offered Officially Liscensed Commishion cushion's to the board?
If my youngest gets admitted into Ross today, I might get on interest list.
Best of luck to your son!

The odds?
Having said that, as someone raising a daughter who will hopefully get accepted to Ross or a STEM school, all the best to the father!

Daughter actually, but appreciate your positve thoughts.
Haha - so sorry; that is embarassing!
Something tells me that these will be sold very quickly. That would be ideal for wealthy season ticket holders that fly in for games.
"Son, I remember when we alums paid for tailgating parking spaces. But then we realized, why do that when we could just get a condo instead? That, son, is the MIchigan Difference.™"

the cost to build them is 922K, which I took as the entire project, which really isn't too bad. Whoever builds them should just use them as income property and rent them out for Michigan athletics. You could charge a fortune for a football game and graduations. Could also get income for basketball and hockey games.
My buddies and I rented a house a couple of years back, just a few blocks away and paid good money for it. The person who owns the house rents it out for those purposes and told us they make good money every year on it.

They will keep units if they can't get their price but they don't want to hold on to these. They have other projects they are working on.
That is some bad architecting.

It is pretty bad. I am trying to find a redeeming quality, but struggling. Assuming the light gray areas are metal panel and not EIFS, I suppose the material quality is decent; there's plenty of glass. It's basically an 8 car garage with a big box of housing on top.
Of course LOCATION and as long as the interior has trendy finishes, most people won't care.

stadium view with in the constraints of the land and AA restrictions. I don't disagree with your comments but there are no easy solutions.
Yup, blame the zoning ordinance. That's every developer and architect's excuse. :)
You are right of course. Most ordinances inspire max envelope boxes.
...and if anyone is going to blame Ann Arbor's relatively permissive zoning code for inhibiting the quality of their designs they should also remember to tell everyone how much better their projects would be if they could be built somewhere without the unfair and capricious influence of gravity.
This is just a lazy design and very likely a developer that was only interested in minimum code compliance/maximizing square footage.

And how many steps do you have to go up to get from 3rd level to 4th level? There doesn't appear to be enough risers, or maybe they are really steep stairs.
I'm in. Looks like I'm 1/3 owner of a condo with umbig11 and Monkey House. Should be fun.
i'm in too. please pick me up on your way down the I-75. I'll be the guy with all the kids and the monster van. or better yet, you jump in with us, and off we go to AA.

I basically have a first floor suite sitting empty. Two BR's and your own bath in the old west side, a mile from the stadium. Been contemplating offering it up for football saturdays for prescreened MGousers.

I'm sure you would have no problem renting it out.

at scanner's place...
CG, you are a champ to even think of it.
There should be a rule that you only can comment if you also include insider football tidbits.

JM will RS, but watch out next year.

Do people seriously want Milton to start? The most popular guy on the team is our...4th-string QB? Jaysus. If Milton gets near starting as a raw true freshman, we should be absolutely terrified about the QB coaching and direction of the program.

I call Saturdays!
Imagine the demand would be extremely high.
