Quick football note
On the injury front, Kareem Walker has joined a few that are dinged up. He appears to have an ankle injury. The severity is unknown. However, that has opened up RB3 competition. Ambry Thomas has shown off his talent in the early going in the secondary.
McElwain and Warriner have made their presence known. McElwain is very intense as he was getting after the WR group (mostly positive) and Warriner has been chewing up the OL. JKP has stood out along with a few others like Milton. Joe doesn't look or act like a true Freshman.
There were 4 guys that ran with 1's consistently so far on defense (Gary, Chase, K. Hudson, and Hill). On the offensive side of the ball there were just too many players getting reps to really get a feel other than Bredeson, Ruiz, Onwenu, and DPJ.
I'm sure, he seems like it. I want him to succeed too. That's not mutually exclusive from me watching his film and being realistic about his ability.
hopes and good feelings about the Warrniner effect, and glad to hear Coach McElwain seems into it.

Queue a maizen rant on 3* recruits.
Milton was the 204th ranked player in the country, the 9th overall QB, and very solidly in 4 star territory.

but I think Joe will start for a couple of years. While he doesn't have the same throwing motion, in nearly every other reguard he reminds me of Harbaugh. Watch the tape; the way he scrambles, keeping his eyes down field, to the slight, "is he making this up as he goes along?" feeling.... it's spooky. Milton is Harbaugh's most Harbaugh QB.

I think a lot of you guys have a secret crush on maizen. Why else would you obsess about him constantly? Get over it already. Such stupid petty childish crap.

What worries me is the OL. What will Warriner be able to accomplish in a relatively short amount of time? If they can even just be average that is a huge improvement.
The ceiling for the team is high if it can all be put together, but it also wouldn’t surprise me to see them finish 8-4 again, possibly even 7-5. There’s five teams on Michigan’s schedule who I’d say are legitimately better than them as of today. OSU, MSU, ND, PSU and UW.

is that the line was really run-blocking pretty well. While I know that this was gap, that's much more than most bad o-lines can say.
Also: I am not expecting domination, just basic competence. If we could just be an average pass-pro team, our ceiling is raised.

the coaching. We have talent at WR and OL, just need to be properly coached up to bring that talent out.
correctly spell's Ed's last name.
It's 2 words ("war" and "inner") joined together to form Warinner.

100% per Harbaugh

Nice to have good news on the 4th string QB who has about as much of a chance of seeing the field as I do this season! Let's get the due diligence that we really want, how are Patterson and McCaffrey doing? That's the battle we want to hear about. Speight coming back or Milton, who cares at this point.

Yep...high hopes for ignition this year!

Any news on Peters? Based on commentary here I assumed he was taken behind the shed and put down, but I hope he is showing well because he's my pick to be the starter to start the year.

Same as last year: show me the OL. If that is better, ok. If not, we will be severely limited once again.

When are we gonna find out the name of the transfer that will "sting a bit"?
So much this...I have not forgotten since I read that comment.

Hoping it all clicks for some classic JH manball

I believe he addressed this somewhat in saying that the attrition will likely happen over the summer months and not the Spring. Spring will help some kids decide what they want to do with their futures at Michigan.
Ask Purdue
except the biggies:
- Shea's eligibility and development of a rock-solid backup
- Capable OL play, especially at OT in pass pro
- WRs who can be counted on to get open and make plays
I think Harbaugh is going to nail down #1 and McElwain is going to jazz-up our WRs like Zordich did for the CBs. The elephant in the room is can Warriner improve the OL performance? ... sounds like the interior is a strength but the OTs are still going to be the wildcard. I was disappointed to see Steuber not taking a step forward at one of the tackle spots. Maybe Hudson is better suited there but OL wasn't his focus until mid last year so he could behind on the development curve. With Harbaugh mentioning Runyon and JBB first in the OT pecking order doesn't instill much confidence. Here is to hoping Warriner is a miracle worker. Go Blue !!!
Would Milton presumably be the scout team QB if he redshirts as expected?
