Spanellis and some of the backups haven't looked to hot lately so having that kind of depth might not help

Now they have to play like it.
They have been.
debateable. Wasn't only the OTs that couldn't keep our QBs clean.
Agreed, but Kalis, Kugler, Dawson, Bosch, Fox, LTT, etc. were all really highly ranked and underachieved. At some point potential has to turn into production.
Because he was a top 150 recruit prospect with potential.
I'll join the choir on this one - Ed Warinner is a key add to the offensive line, even if he is not a player. Not sure where exactly you were going with this take, but it makes the grave error of missing the bigger picture.
I had a crazy fantasy of a stud left tackle taking care of the blindside, but maybe Hudson or Newsome will step up?
Something tells me he wasn’t going to be the kind of guy who could hold Nick Bosa at bay.
He'd probably do better than a 1st year starter will
Exactly. He was 2 time Honorable Mention in the AAC, not exactly All-B1G. But his size and experience would have been a valuable addition to the team.
Can't have a farewell post without the "we didn't want him anyway" commenters pretending he wouldn't have been better than what we currently have.
Seriously, best of luck to him. I mean that. But I think his impact would’ve been minimal. At least in big games.
Need some underclassmen to step up.
Texas has the easiest recruiting job in the country (along with USC when they are not on sanctions).
The flagship program in a very talent rich state.
You don't even need to leave the state, recruits will come to you.
When Texas isn't stepping on their own dick, they will always our-recruit A&M.
Kind of like us and Sparty.
So he's choosing to be an undrafted free agent instead of a 3rd round pick. Good for him.
Go Blue!
Connor Williams is projected to be a 1st round pick FWIW.
Anderson was NEVER coming to Michigan. No way he was going anywhere but Texas. He got his 15 minutes of recruiting fame (which he earned) after being a Rice recruit. He's an Austin kid.....can't blame him for picking the Longhorns. He is an impressive young man. Good luck to him.
