Question for MBB season ticket holders
After much consideration, my girlfriend and I put down a deposit and are officially Michigan Basketball season ticket holders.
My question for those on here who are season ticket holders is about the parking passes.
I talked to one of the U-M ticket reps a couple weeks ago about parking passes being offered to STHs, but he never mentioned the price. Can anyone let me know how much they paid/where they park with their permit?
WD, I am a season ticket holder and paid a PSD but was never able to find information - or sent any information - on parking passes.
I attended every game was was able to get parking at lots to the north of the Football stadium for $10 a game. I usually did not arrive super early but always found a spot.
SC2, SC35, SC32

This says that blue lot parking was made available to those who have at least 275 points. Looks like basketball only has Blue and Maize (premium seating).
EDIT: No idea what the pricing would be.
275 is a fairly large amount of points. I am old but not rich and have about 180 or so points. Now I see why the lot is seldom full.
Blue Permit was $175 for the season last year.
With 17 home games I might as well just pay the $10 per in SC35 like I did this season for 8 games.
Berkley or Snyder-- I park on Keech right by AAA. But I'm there 2 hrs .before tipoff so there's always a spot. 5yrs of football, 5 yrs. of basketball, 4yrs. of hockey have never paid a dime for parking.
two hours before basketball, hockey or any sport besides football you could shoot a cannon in the parking lot and not hit a soul.
He has a reserved spot just outside the north tunnel, (he does pay me ...sort of).
and not hit a soul....
so basically a Rutgers home football game?
For me the $175 for the Blue Lot has been worth it. I've had it the past two seasons. Nice things for me:
- If I get there as early as I'd like to, I get a great spot.
- If I get there late (traffic, work, etc), I know I'll get a spot anyway and not be scrambling so I can get to the game.
- Depending on who is with me, where I'm coming from, and which way I'm leaving, there are two parts to the Blue Lot and I can pick which I want for each game.
There are some great Blue / other lots around the area that are unmanned and offer free parking after regular business hours during the week. Just need to look for those and walk the few minutes to the game like with any other non-football event in my opinion.
Except when it is 11pm and near zero :-) Walking a long way for football is no problem, for me basketbal is. I do see people parking for free along Pauline which is a pretty short walk.
I assume (given that you are the second most enthusiastic UM fan I am aware of) that you will arrive early enough that street parking is not an issue. Otherwise, as bringthewood said, parking in the lots north of the stadium almost never fills up. (Pro-tip: if you park on Pauline, face away from the stadium.)
That's a big commitment for just being a girlfriend.
Only a matter of time before she starts posting on here. She not only has gone with me to Swimming, WBB, Track etc. but she's told me other stuff she wants to go to.
Imagine my reaction hearing during our first MBB game back in December "can we go to all the sports?".
A real champ. As few sure things there are in life, I've found one.
I have been at 95% of the lax games the last four years and you never say hi. I've met Rob F, XM, and of course my MGo Blinddate. I'm usually handing out rosters on the north concourse (or shoveling snow). "Hey Carl".
If she wants to go to UM club sports too such as men's waterpolo or women's B team soccer then you have met your match. Or do you go to those too?
I think he's referring to the fact that its gonna be awkward as hell sitting next to your ex if you break up at some point before/during next season.
I like to street park. Pauline area is good, and if it is not bitterly cold, the streets off of State just north of Stadium has lots of free street parking. AA Pioneer is pretty good for parking if you need to get onto I-94 quickly. I think it's $10.
Or be crazy, get a burger and beer at Fraser's and uber to the Stadium for practically nothing.
easy in- easy out- $10.
I live about 1.5 miles from Crisler - I wonder how much Uber would be round trip on average? I always guessed it to more then $10 to park, especially around game times.
minimum price of an uber in aa is around 4.50-5 last i checked and it would cover that distance ....
Pioneer is further away from Crisler than the SC lots are despite being the same price.
I have parked in both the SC lots and at Pioneer. The walk from the SC lots to the NE entrance of Crisler is almost identical in distance to the walk from the Pioneer lot to the SW entrance. The Pioneer lot is easier to get out of after the game, especially if you take the back exit onto 7th St. Given the choice, I would also rather give my $10 to the AAPS.
More often than not, I park a bit farther away for free. The Univeristy lots north and east of Hoover and Greene often have free spaces 30 to 40 minutes before a game. The lot behind the Sports Coliseum always has free spaces and it is only a half mile walk.
For football I like to park downtown and walk to the games. Then walk back and grab a brew and a burger.
I think we are paying about $10 per game.
We park at the NAPA on Hoover for football. They used to let us park for free for hoops. Once the team starting playing better, they starting charging $10 a game. We found out that the Blue Lot was the same price...so decided it made more sense to be closer to the arena.
We typically park near the exit so that we can get out relatively quickly.
Ooooh Ticket office has been blowing up my phone about season tickets for next year. They called Monday morning at like 9:15!
