Watching this OTL on ESPN right now

There is NO way Izzo survives this.  It's absolutely disgusting that a coach would look ther other way.  He will be GONE within a week.  Sickening.  Clean the F-ing house.

They're going to go full PSU fanbase.  They didn't have a problem condemning Nasser, Simon and the gymnastics coach but Izzo/Dantonio are their sacred cows and they're not going to accept anything to the contrary.

I can tell you one thing. Every MSU away basketball game for the rest of the season will have constant chants calling for Izzo’s head. I’m curious to see what the signage looks like for tonight’s home game.

Game tonight. The commentary interesting and interviews with Izzo may get terse. Interesting to see how he is received at breslin. I’m sure it will be total support as the Izzone wears teal for the victims and they give a standing O to an enabler?

I just texted my parents about it.  They're both MSU alums, and they're going to the game.  They had no idea about the reporting and said "thanks, we'll check it out later."

I imagine there'll be quite a few awkward moments at the game.  Probably a minority of people will boo Izzo or something and everyone else will be like "WTF" and beat them up.  Idk

What's next should be an NCAA death sentence across the entire athletic department.  The absolute lack of institutional control demands it.  Honor all scholarships and assist student athletes that choose to continue in their sport at another school.  NCAA should allow, without qualification, transfers to any and all student athletes that so desire.

Scholarship limits should be expanded for receiving schools not to exceed a limit to be determined.

The only thing bigger than Izzo and Dantonio at MSU is MSU itself.  Unfortunately, MSU is making national news right now for sexual assault cover-ups.  Nassar scandal has been prominent in the NYT for a while now.  Several very prominent MSU figures have resigned already.

MSU's reputation, students' safety, funding, existence, etc. is on the line.  They need to show everyone convincingly that they're doing the right thing.  Izzo and Dantonio are the most powerful people at the school, and they facilitated this sick culture.  If the two coaches stick around, MSU has not convincingly shown us anything.

MSU the university is far more than MSU the sports programs.  Izzo and Dantonio probably need to resign in order to save MSU the university.  The alternative risks too much.

Dantonio just issued a blanket denial for all accusations in the ESPN piece.  Says he has reported all incidences of sexual assault to the proper authorities (police and/or Title IX office).  Says he has no plans to resign.

Why? I’m actually surprised he didn’t say it sooner. It’s a smart position to take when somebody is facing a lot of heat. Without outright rejection, he’s opening the door for further public incrimination. Now, the onus is on the law enforcement, etc. to prove he’s wrong and / or lying. I think he’s a scumbag, and I hope he fries for his role in all of this...but - from a purely PR strategy perspective - he probably made the best move he could have made. I don’t expect him to go for a while, if at all. Sadly, that is.

This was the single most disgusting way to cover up an unbelievable act. The way they used that poor little girl to make two criminals look human was hard to stomach. Unfortunately for her family, this will be exposed during OTL. Izzo retires shortly after.

The goal post moving and defiance I'm hearing at work right now is just disgusting, and of course since I'm a Michigan fan, I'm grave dancing. I've had to tell a couple of these assholes that this is bigger than sports. This is about doing the right thing, and nobody did the right thing. I don't care if it's Michigan State, or San Diego State. They need to burn.

No force on earth (short of maybe playing OSU) would ever make me root for an MSU sports team to win at anything but I'm rooting like hell for MSU students (especially the 80+ heroes who testified last week) and faculty to get their university back.
