OT: Gene Steratore back at it again
Everybody watching the Saints-Vikings game right now knows what I am talking about. These reviews are taking way longer than necessary. Also, the Saints were called for way too many PI's in the first half. How does this guy keep getting assigned to big time games and why can't he make up his mind quicker on obvious calls? He sucks.
FUCK GENE STERATORE
EDIT: What an ending. Steratore got that one last review at the end lol

Not a Vikings fan. Saints could have been called for a lot more.
There was one suspect PI call where the Viking receiver grabbed the defender's wrist and then fell down. That was the only bad PI call.
There were TWO over the backs in the game on part of the Saints the refs let slide.
The Saints were molesting the receivers all game long.

Also, head of officiating in NY makes final decision, so quit being a whiny bitch.

He's not the one making the PI calls. It's easy to want to murder the guy who has to report questionable calls 30+ yards downfield.
That said, he's a fuckwit basketball official. He shouldn't be doing both.

He sucks ass at officiating football games too. Don't forget the index card incident in the Cowboys-Raiders game. That was this dumbass.

My guess is he was trying to light him up to dislodge the ball and/or prevent Diggs from getting out of bounds as the Vikes didn't have any timeouts.
January 15th, 2018 at 10:21 AM ^
...I think he got there a little early and was trying to avoid a game-losing PI. If he takes Diggs's legs on that first lunge he's done it before the ball arrives.

the point-after is attempted even when the game is decided because a potential (way down the list) playoff qualifying tiebreaker is total points (but teams always kneel it anyways). But with this being a playoff game it doesn't make sense to have to attempt it, except for gambling reasons, which many fans think is the real reason for the rule. Teams just kneel it anyways so the NFL should really get rid of the rule except for 1 or 2 point games where a defensive 2 pt conversion could tie/win the game.

wait, that means the game was tied before the PAT right? of course, they need to kick the PAT, because it's not decided. If the game is decided befor PAT even with 1 point, the best is just kneel it in PAT, so no body get hurts, and the opposite team cannot run for two points.

Especially when the line on this game was 5 or 5.5, which it was.

Steratore confirms 8 to 12 minutes later. Prescient thread. Well done. BTW, is Diggs still in play ?
