Enos hired as (possible) OC
SOURCE: #Michigan is hiring former #Arkansas OC Dan Enos, a former #MichiganState asst and ex #CMU head coach.

If we're talking strictly about an OL hire, who are we going to get with a better track record? We're not talking about calling plays at this point.

Well since our offensive line has under performed, I'd say his track record has taken a hit recently.

I seriously think having two OL coaches with completely different philosophies was not a recipe for success. The gap-blocking got much better over the course of the season despite the team spending considerable time on zone concepts in the offseason.

Didn't Frey handle the OL?
Also, Enos isn't a terrible hire... I'm more concerned as to why hasn't Jedd Fisch taken the Mizzou OC position yet. I thought there was an announcement made where he had, however, I've seen him linked to other jobs (Arizona HC, most notably) on other sites... hoping we may have reached out to him, if for nothing more than a consultation.

Frey handled tackles and Drevno handled guards. It was a very odd system.

The whole offensive coaching situation is going to take some time to sort itself out. At least we are starting to see some peices comes together.

Then what in those years of not coaching with each other have made their friendship take a 180?

Doesn't specifically say he's hired as (co-)OC - is that for certain?
January 5th, 2018 at 2:07 PM ^
Im speculating but he could take over OC and then Drevno gets a demotion to O-line only?
January 5th, 2018 at 2:05 PM ^
Anything less is a failure. Thinking you can pair him with someone and things will get fixed is dumb. Hopefully, that's not the route Harbaugh is taking.

Should make for some interesting discussion over on RCMB.

I still hate Michigan now
Michigan I hate

it's a given that he'll be the OC. He's been a QB/RB/WR coach at a bunch of different levels, and we're probably overhauling the whole offensive coaching staff basically, so there's a lot of possible openings.

Then I hope he's the sole OC. Tired of having 3 cooks in the kitchen.
January 5th, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
Same here. One guy calls all plays. That's all you need. Having more than one of any of them is dumb. They are one man jobs.
January 5th, 2018 at 2:40 PM ^
He may come in at a positional spot at Michigan/Co-OC just to spring board his career back into the HC-land. The WSU DC seems to have done that with the OSU opportunity.
January 6th, 2018 at 10:55 AM ^
Could he of landed a power 5 OC job elsewhere? You are assuming and presenting it as fact. I'm not saying yes he could, or no he couldn't for sure but I only saw his name come up in association with Michigan. I hope he is not OC.
