Get him to visit the local Outback Steakhouse! I heard they're dealing with tough times. Some crazy people are boycotting. They need the business!

is gone from Outback, maybe the waitstaff can make some money.

It's happening??? With decent QB play we would have been no worse than 11-1 this year. With Shea and a year of development for our young guys the sky is the limit.

Gonna have to disagree. Did you even see the OL try to pass block this year? Or the WRs run routes?
11-1 was not going to happen this year if Tom Brady was at QB...

We beat Wisconsin until Peters went out. Had the refs called the clear touchdown, I think we still would have won that one.
We were beating OSU for the whole first half, and that was with a bunch of missed throws.
A decent QB doesn't turn the ball over 46 times against MSU.
PSU did destroy us, there is your 11-1.

Why do people keep making this up? We were down 14-10 when Peters got hurt.

played OL and DL like the old days.........
Dust off the Fielding Yost playbook and run low!
December 4th, 2017 at 11:28 AM ^
I will disagree with that. I agree that it would take very good QB play (not just mediocre) to get us to 11-1 but a significant part of the problem with the OL was that other teams didn't respect our passing game and could crowd the LOS and send extra guys (not saying our OL would be good but it was a factor IMO). Put a good QB in charge that gets the ball out quickly and hits downfield shots and I think the OL play would be better. And even with bad protection, we were not far away from winning MSU, OSU and Wisky. I could easily see those games going the other way.

Agree and I just want to add that a good qb will see a rush coming and not get killed when he is sacked.
December 4th, 2017 at 12:08 PM ^
after he was already down. Good QBs take big hits. It's part of the game to stand in there under pressure and deliver the ball just before you get hit.

we threw how many picks in the Michigan State game? The Wisconsin game was still up for grabs when Brandon went out; the momentum shift of that event affected both teams and was a big difference in that game. The Ohio State game would have come out differently too, had we had better QB play; they didn't steam roll us. I don't think it would have mattered in the 'other' State game but 11-1 isn't that much of a stretch.
December 4th, 2017 at 4:20 AM ^
He's better off somewhere else than Ole Miss and we at Michigan already know what it's like to be short of good QB's, looks like a match made in heaven. I can understand Peters and McCaffrey (as well as Milton and Doyle) feeling it's a bit full at the Inn already but hopefully all see this as a way to get the best out of themselves and that the cream rises to the top. Coach owes it to the team to get the best players to compete, especially at a position of need; I don't think it a negative that we accept Patterson into the fold.
December 4th, 2017 at 6:11 AM ^
I heard someone say Patterson would want to go to the NFL a year early so Patterson would likely be here only 1 year and both Peters and McCaffery are both still young.
December 4th, 2017 at 7:40 AM ^
Hugh Freeze burning his redshirt last season and then the overall debacle and injury this season have really tempered his chances of leaving early.
December 4th, 2017 at 10:19 AM ^
says that Shea lost his job to the JUCO transfer QB. Thus, he wants to find a place where he can start and show his NFL skills
If that's the case, he may not come here if there is no clear path to the QB spot. Just an observation.

“I’m going to come to your team. Win the starting spot. Then go pro the next year. At that point Brandon or Dylan can start. “
Didn’t Harbaugh say it took 2 years to learn his offense? Maybe he’s more of a Rudock type kid that picks things up fast.
I don’t know. Just doesn’t seem probable that he beats a couple kids out with Uber talent that have already been in the system a year or two.
But hey, as we have seen, u can’t have enough depth...or shall I say quality depth, at qb on the roster.

If he comes here, he has a great shot of beating those two out. Those who have watched them all play know he is certainly as talented but probably more so. I'm not saying he would for sure beat them out because they have more time in the system but there is a reason he is visiting and it's not just because he wants to. Harbaugh saw that talent up close when looking at other IMG players and liked him a lot.
December 4th, 2017 at 11:34 AM ^
Agree. I think one of two things happen if he comes here:
1. He is very talented and wins the job which likely puts him with a decent shot at the NFL after one year and leaves the other QBs with plenty of time left.
2. He doesn't beat out Peters but provides an excellent, seasoned backup option.
In either case, no real reason for Peters to go anywhere and leaves Michigan with better options.
December 4th, 2017 at 12:26 PM ^
as we didn't have it this year. I'm guessing he's looking at our roster and figures he will have two guys to compete against next year. One who will have 4 career starts and the other with no college playing experience. Considering how good of a QB Shea is I can see where our roster is intriguing to him.
He can also see we have a lot of other talent on this team also, so we should be very competitive next year.

Peters and Patterson can be teammates again.

Harbaugh's announcement yesterday stating Peters in the #1 for the bowl game was timely. He will then likely enter the spring as #1-ish - unless someone greatly out preforms him.

According to Greg Biggins of 247 there is definite interest in Michigan, so a visit is extremely likely. Quoted on Detroit News site:
“Spoke to the family last night, can confirm Michigan is a major player,” Biggins reported on 247Sports. “They’re also very confident they can win an appeal and Shea will be eligible to play next fall.”

Maybe Harbaugh is changing the tide. Patterson's from Ohio are starting to think about transferring here. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan is a good start.

Is there any indication beyond family thinking the waiver will be granted that indicates that - yes - the waiver will be granted?

Never saw him play but the enthusiam from our fanbase over his potential transfer is damn good sign.
We need every help we can get a the QB position with Speight, O'Korn & Malzone leaving.
Go get him!
