Late Night Games (open thread)
Improvement Week. But still...get'up, it's GAMEDAY! Blacksburg, VA WAS ROCKING (for ESPN College Gameday)!

This site has so many weird glitches. Someone didn't build this properly.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:08 PM ^
Had the exact same problem!
September 30th, 2017 at 9:58 PM ^
This Saturday has had blowouts or sludgefarts for the most part. TT/OkState looks like it'll be pretty good though and it has the Law of Gus on its side.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:00 PM ^
It's been pretty bad. I'll take it over nothing, but yikes. This wasn't a great day for college football.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:08 PM ^
Sucks, too. A lot of those games looked great on paper, but many turned into duds. The best game occurred last night at Washington State.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:16 PM ^
Indeed.
(Unless you're a Troy fan)

The men of Troy (NTT) take down the lsu pussycats and ed orgeron - who didn't want Harbaugh camping in Louisana. Karma is bitch ed!

Announcers on ESPN2 are basically recruiting for UCF. I mean it's literally a 5 min rant on how great UCF is, how great Orlando is, how great the offense is...crazy.
As I type, they're STILL bragging on them. Good for them.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:32 PM ^
Did they mention how hard UCF can hit?

VT. Man, VT sucks. After watching a Don Brown defense dismantle teams and then watch these loser run around putting zero pressure on the Clemson QB.
A Don Brown defense would have had that Clemson qb sucking buttermilk
September 30th, 2017 at 10:06 PM ^
Bud Foster was Don Brown before Don Brown was cool. Clemson is really good again.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:33 PM ^
they suck donkey balls, Clemson is not doing anything extraordinary, they have a nice OL though I will give them that.

Coach O:" uhh...smoke bomb"

Bet they wish they had him back down there eating grass now.

I used to be able to stay wide awake for the late night games, but man....I'm tired around 10:00 every Saturday night. I guess that's what a M-F work schedule does to people.

LSU trying to win with Danny Etling's legs. It's sad, really.

I've had it up TO HERE with watching Purdue quarterbacks.

- Saquon Barkley
- Baker Mayfield
- Bryce Love
- Rashaad Penny
- Lamar Jackson

So, I believe Chris and Kirk are calling our game. I hope GameDay tweets they will be in Ann Arbor.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:12 PM ^
That would be quite the indictment of next week's slate.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:14 PM ^
September 30th, 2017 at 10:42 PM ^
Precisely why they have a better chance of coming than we would think. MSU sucks, but that won't be nationally proven until next Saturday when Devin Bush exposes them.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:13 PM ^
They'll be in Ft. Worth next week.
But yes, we'll get Fowler and Herbie calling our game, which is nice. It'll be cool to be the national ABC night game.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:36 PM ^
Really? A WV/TCU afternoon game in Fort Worth? TCU is worth being on GameDay, but West Virginia lost their only significant game so far this year against VT, with the rest of their wins coming from East Carolina, Delaware State, and Kansas.
Michigan game is a ton more attractive to ESPN IMO. Michigan is ranked higher, and MSU at least beat Iowa (I know they suck but at least Iowa is more of a recognizable CFB name). They also beat Bowling Green and Western (which are arguably better than ECU and DSU), and their loss came from ND, which is ND (no matter how much they don't deserve it they still will get credit as a marquee program).
Also, the stories are also more immense. Best defense in the country, QB conversation, rivalry game environment, rare night game environment in Ann Arbor, also the conveniences of not having GameDay and Saturday Night Football in two different places.
Since they've been to NDSU and Times Square, I highly doubt matchups between ranked teams are the sole metric that determines which games GameDay goes to.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:47 PM ^
Gameday goes to marquee 1-A games (with a bias towards one on ESPN/ABC, obviously) or weird gimmicks like NYC or NDSU. Given next week's slate they should just go to like an HBCU or something.
September 30th, 2017 at 11:03 PM ^
There is only one more good gimmick left: They finally need to come to Wazzu.
Seriously, they've been flying those flags for so long, trying to tell GameDay to come to a Washington State game. It's time that they get their pay day.
There is really no other gimmick left for them to do.
Going to a HBCU game would be cool though, I can see that happening, but not only two weeks removed from their last gimmick, same goes with WSU: It'll happen (probably this year), but not right now.
September 30th, 2017 at 11:14 PM ^
September 30th, 2017 at 11:25 PM ^
Yeah, if they came for that game, who's saying they won't come to it...at night?
However, in all honesty, I thought about this and realized that this might be exactly why they DON'T come if they decide not to. They have a large audience to cater to, and they might want to please more of them with more variety.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:14 PM ^
If LSU loses, chances of GameDay being in AA will go up big time.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:21 PM ^
TCU vs. WVU.
They're not going to LSU vs. Florida. Those teams are awful.
September 30th, 2017 at 11:06 PM ^
I can agree with that (Not going to Florida/LSU) on second thought.
Apologies for not thinking for a second there.
September 30th, 2017 at 10:11 PM ^
Uh oh, LSU is coming back.

September 30th, 2017 at 10:12 PM ^
Every time I've flipped to the LSU game, they've shown some signs of life, the last time I did it was when Troy fumbled. I will not turn the channel back again.
Please give updates on the game. Thanks and Go Troy!
