Jim Harbaugh will be in Norfolk tomorrow

Submitted by umbig11 on
He will attend the commissioning of the "supercarrier," USS Gerald R. Ford. The ship will be christened by former first daughter and ship sponsor Susan Ford Bales. Also in attendance, POTUS, SECDEF, VA Governor and about 10,000 others. The Michigan connection is obvious. Go Blue!! https://pilotonline.com/news/military/local/navy-to-commission-uss-gera…

Back in the day at 29 palms (7th Marines).  When it came time to reenlist, I had Col Mattis swear me in.  I also worked for him for a short time when I was at Regimental HQs.  He would sometimes have mandatory PME training (Primary Military Education) on Fridays at 1300.  We were to show up at The Stumps bar in town for refreshments.  Hell of a Marine.  Hell of a leader.

Pretty amazing how the constant glorification of war criminals and criminal wars isn't considered political and is never called political or criticized, everyone jumps on the bandwagon, but a little true rebuttal, or objecting to war, war crimes and war criminals will certainly be called political and cause outrage!

"Mattis was the head of Camp Pendleton's 1st Marine Division in Iraq and played a lead role during both of the US sieges of Fallujah in 2004.

During the April 2004 siege, more than 700 civilians were killed by the US military, according to Iraqi doctors in the city whom I interviewed in the aftermath of that attack.

While reporting from inside Fallujah during that siege, I personally witnessed women, children, elderly people and ambulances being targeted by US snipers under Mattis' command. Needless to say, all of these are war crimes.

During the November siege of Fallujah later that same year, which I also covered first-hand, more than 5,000 Iraqi civilians were killed. Most were buried in mass graves in the aftermath of the siege.

Mosques were deliberately targeted by the US military, hospitals bombed, medical workers detained, ambulances shot at, cease-fires violated, media repressed, and the use of depleted uranium was widespread. All of these are, again, war crimes."

Lots of dirt on this criminal beyond that excerpt.

Hell of a leader! Hell of a man! Hoorah! BTW, every order given and followed in an undeclared war, especially an unjust, imoral war based on lies that even if true were no justification and the height of hypocrisy, is an illegal order that should not be followed!

Here's the congressional testimony of our Iraq/Afghan war troops about our war crimes and those they committed themselves: https://www.ivaw.org/wintersoldier

Here's an honest General's expose of the war con, who also refused to lead and stopped an attempted fascist coup of FDR by the kind of cretins that so many of you admire and worship, such as the Shrub Grandpappy & all the major brands you love to worship!

Here's the story of the "Business Plot" coup attempt, not worthy of news or school coverage:

CAPT McCormack is the Ford's Commanding Officer and was a classmate of mine at the Naval Academy. Rich is a great leader and an awesome naval aviator and test pilot. I can't think of a better person to command this amazing ship post commissioning. Hopefully we will get to see some pictures of him with Coach Harbaugh on Twitter tomorrow.

I visited Norfolk with my family when I was thirteen. I have two older brothers who were also teenagers. The whole time we kept saying "wow, NorFUCK is great! Don't you like NorFUCK mom?" Jeez teenagers can be such douchebags.

LOL think about where Clempston is and connect the dots. But seriously I'm liberal and I'd want them to go to the White House. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and they're college kids not pro athletes. Doesn't matter who sits in the Oval Office, you get to be the guests of honor in the White House! Think about how cool that is.

True.  All the development overruns are charged against the first hull - the Ford.  The price will continue to come down as construction and assembly are perfected and improved.  The same thing happened with the Virginia class submarines.  Each hull comes in a little cheaper and a little quicker.  That said, $13B for something that can be sunk in a heartbeat, is a bit much.  Especially when coupled to the F35, a vastly over-priced, under-performing piece of junk.

I saw the Ford several times when it was still being built.  One of my wife's aunt's lived just over the Rt 17 drawbridge that goes past the shipyard.  The only carrier I saw operationally was the Nimitz.  We were both leaving Norfolk, and Nimitz was running us down - directly behind us and three times as fast.  She told us to get out of the way, and we did.  That's a big-ass ship!!
