Mo Bamba accepted illegal benefits per his brother
...Michigan/Beilein doesn't get 5 star recruits.
It's a dirty game. We're not a blue blood in basketball so we'll always face an uphill battle. And even the academically-inclined 5 stars may be accepting impermissible benefits.
Just think if Bamba had picked Michigan and this came out. Beilein would have no choice but to suspend Bamba (while the NCAA figures things out).
I'm reasonably happy with Beilein. He doesn't need 5 stars to do well. If he can get a bunch of mid 4 stars mixed in with a few high 3 stars (with big upsides), we'll be fine.
Weird. So they're alleging a Michigan Booster gave illegal benefits to Bamba in an effort to get him to come to Michigan?
And does his brother really think he is helping him by advertising this?
Who says he is a Michigan booster?
Haven't researched much of this on my own, but sounds like one of those situations where his brother expected something of him, like getting to be his agent when he went pro, and when Mo said no, his brother decided to get back at him by ratting him out.
In the grand scheme of things, I suppose it's good that he didn't end up at Michigan. Beilein likely would've had to suspend him from the team anyway. I believe the minute you it's been confirmed that you've accepted payment or some form of gifts from a booster, you immediately forfeit your collegiate eligibility.
There would certainly be some penalty from the NCAA, but there have been a lot of impermissable benefit cases and the penalty is typically a multi-game suspension. Often just a few games.
Nothing like trying to destroy your brothers college basketball career.
Wow, there's a lot of love in this family.
...just think, we could be dealing with this shit.
man, i'm glad we don't buy into this crap.
With social media, I am surprised this does not happen more often from jilted family members or others feeling left out of an inner circle.
Couple thoughts:
1. Why are media outlets reporting Greer Love as a Michigan alumnus? I know he got an MBA from Michigan, but his profile pretty clearly states he went to undergrad at IU.
2. I wonder if Michigan was being considered because this advisor lives in the Detroit area.
Point 2 would make sense given that Bamba declared his interest for Michigan totally out of the blue. Michigan had not really been recruiting him up to that point.
His big bro on one of the trips. Sheesh. Sensitive siblings are the worst!
My GF's sister is like this. Worse actually.
best for M, No Mo bamba
Water is wet.
It felt like the brother was throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
Kudos to anyone who had the patience to sit through that whole diatribe. I couldn't make it past the two minute mark of whatever that was.
Long story short.
I only watched for about 5 seconds and LOL'd at his brother acting like a baller at an apartment complex pool.
"You only need a bachelor's to be a sports agent"
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Most agents are attorneys! There are exceptions and the "requirements" are certainly nebulous... but I highly doubt this racist, inarticulate, mush mouth mother fucker could ever understand contract law!
