I think the whole recruiting aspect of College Football is very strange. I couldn't imagine calling 16 / 17 years old kids every day trying to get them to go to your school. What do you talk about? I was never really impressed with Battier. I think he was just a product of the Duke hype machine. Bobby Hurley, Christian Laettner, Cherokee Parks, J.J. Redick............ All he did was rebound and play defense. And get some garbage points.

If a bunch of kids are involved. I don't think the NCAA will spend very much time investigating this. This is a can of worms the NCAA is better off not opening.
I thought that it was ok to do stuff like this for a kid if you knew him before he was in the 6th grade. Like buying your daughters friend a birthday present or taking your daughters friend on a family vacation.
I don't think you can. I remember 20 years ago that Miami or Florida State tried to hide football players on Track Scholarships. And the NCAA changed the rules. That you are on a football scholarship first if you play 2 sports.
But if he stopped playing football, I have no idea how that would work if he only ran track.
