Michigan bar in Denver, CO?
Heading out to Denver for a week for my birthday on Wednesday and I was hoping to watch Friday's match up at a Michigan friendly/alumni bar in town... Does one such place exist?
Any recommendations?
Bueller?
EDIT: Thanks to those of answered the question, but jeez, should a Mod delete this or something? ... I don't use social media, I never joined the Alumni Association, and my cirlce of friends has gotten pretty small since I graduated Michigan. I figured this would be the easiest and best place to ask.
Sorry if I "offended" anyone...
Lodo's Bar and Grill downtown.

I live just south of Denver and have never been to the downtown location.
But... Avoid the Highlands Ranch location. It is, without a doubt, an Ohio State bar.
LoDo's is fine but I really like Stem Ciders. A couple of guys from Ann Arbor opened it. They even fly a Big M flag inside. Cool location and great staff.
Stem Ciders does look cool, but it also doesn't look like a sports bar with TVs. Not the spot for watching the game, but definitely seems like a good place for after the game.
Yeah I don't remember if they had a TV or not.
It's truly incredible these threads are still started.
It's truly incredible people continue to get butt hurt about stupid stuff like this.
Cute response.
Seeing as you are a lurker more than poster as much as I am, you have seen enough of these to get the idea of what happens. There are legitmately pages devoted to this at the AAUM website. The mods have legit made a sticky about it, multiple times telling us to reference that rather than start threads. So the only thing "truly incredible" to me is that people cannot comprehend what is being asked. And typically I have no problem with any thread outside of this or political ones.. so no I dont get butthurt, but completely agree this is "stupid stuff."
In my defense, I've visited the Alumni Association website, maybe, twice and I only come here to discuss sports, mainly football. I pretty much block out all other posts/threads, and I'm not really a bar person to begin with...
I simply didn't know, man, I apologize. Go Blue, I'm on your side...
Yes, yes I am entertained watching your butt-hurtness costing you points. Relax and let the man ask his question. The thread topic is VERY clear and you should avoid it if it pains you that much.
And by the way... your 1000 points doesn't make you a big poster.

I mean... it's points... on a blog... If I got butthurt at that, then life would REALLY blow. But sounds like your panties may get in a wad with downvotes...
And by the way... I said I was more a lurker than a poster. Reading is tough for you I see.
One year old Midwestern Saloon is also fantastic and has a properly unhealty midwestern food menu. It's not Michigan only, but the owner is from Bay City and there should be a good sized Michigan crowd for the game.
*sigh*
There are two Lodo's bar and grill one is in lower downtown that's the one you want. One is not in lower the lower downtown, don't go to that one. If it's nice sit on the patio up top.

No.
I live in Lone Tree. The Highlands Ranch location is an Ohio State based bar

wow, a lot more decent/actual responses than I would have anticipated. well done team.
If you walk downtown with M apparel just follow the "Go Blues" to your destination.
I went to Lodo's once when I was in town for a game (in the down years). It was a pretty fun time. Also, you can google this info, FYI.
True. It didn't cross my mind for whatever reason.
many people do not like the "best place to watch a game" or "Michigan bar in....." threads. But I'm with you, your choices are to google it or come to the spot where a lot of Michigan fans are and ask them. You will get negged for it, but most people are kind enough to drop some good knowledege on you. I don't have any information for you, but just wanted to know what to expect from the board in the future. Also, don't start a thread about pooping, that doesn't go over well either.
WOW - double post and the sit isn't even busy....bang me anyways!
According to the Denver alumni FB page, Lodo's on market st. is the official game watch location. That seems to be THE PLACE.
LoDo's is where the Alumni Association meets for football games and is the 'offiicial' bar for the Denver area. There are actually now three LoDo's but only one that's in LoDo ...and don't get confused and wind up in RiNo, LoHi, Uptown, Highlands or any of the other fake neighborhoods.
LoDo's is also an NCST bar ...Florida State, Nebraska ...and a few other schools. Sure to be plenty of Michigan fans there but it's typically packed and loud for NCAA Tourney.
Lodo's is a great scene for an M game, but terrible otherwise, if you're not looking to get into a fight, or defend your honor. Make sure to hightail it outta there once the game is over, and head to somewhere like Union Lodge No.1 for the best cocktails in town or Ratio Beerworks - whatever your preference may be.
The best pizza in town is called Blue Pan Pizza, owned by a M grad and former walkon running back (I forget his name, but super nice guy).
I loved Ratio. Definitely a must go for me.
Jeff Smokevitch is the name you're looking for. Blue Pan is an expansion, his original pizza place is in Telluride.
Agree on BroDo's. I can only stomach that place during a Michigan game after which I make a quick exit.
That's right - "Smoke" as the folks call him. I found out about Blue Pan from the Brown Dog in T-ride...
Worth the drive!

Jeff is a great guy.......I would think that many tubes will be on the game.
Thanks to your post I just learned about Stem Ciders!
Also Conor O'Neill's in Boulder. Apparently owned by the same folks who own Conor O'Neill's in Ann Arbor.
LoDos in LoDo is fun.
FYI - there is a 'Michigan Bar Locator' link under MGoBoard at the top of the page
Ah, thank you. Admittedly, I haven't been very active on the site as of late... I'm not really on the up and up.
The UMAA-Denver Facebook page (HERE) shows Lodo's as the preferred bar.
Try Retro Sportbar & Restaurang - The Crib on Sveavägen. Link is HERE
Not Michigan-centric but has sports on TV
Unless you're in French Tahiti this is a bad, bad thread.
Posted it that way to see what moron would try and pick it apart. Congrats.
demigods can be soooo sensitive. somebody broke your fishing hook? :P
I'm guessing Lodo will be pretty wild, especially later in the day, with Friday being St. Patty's day.
I don't know if these are available in Denver.
the game in Indianapolis............
