10 wins in consecutive seasons: 1st time since 2002/2003
I realize that a lot of us are downgrading our expectations right now, given the last two performances and Speight's injury, but we did get our 10th win today. That makes 2015/2016 the first time we've won 10 or more wins in consecutive seasons since 2002/2003.
Though it's not a conference championship, CFP appearence or even a win over OSU, this is still a sign of how much things have changed since Harbaugh came to Ann Arbor. Think about it: since the last time we won 10 games in consecutive seasons, the following Big 10 Teams have done it at least once: MSU, OSU, PSU, WIsconsin, Iowa.
So this is a pretty significant sign that we're back in the thick of things, and hopefully there to stay. And that, at least, is something to be thankful for.

For instance:
"Indiana is last in the FBS in red zone offense." -Thanks Mr. McElroy, that virtually guarantees them at least 1 TD.
We also had:
"Indiana is 0-36 all time on the road against Michigan" - Yeah, because a lot of good can come out of that stat, you asshats!
I was cracking up as the announcers continued to list these insane stats :/

Yet.

Next year will be the first season that Harbaugh has a returning starter at QB and Don Brown's defense should be fully implemented. If our OL, WR and DBs develop we should be pretty good. We will be fine at QB, TE, RB, and DL.

Sparty also has to play us and OSU together home and away, so they have the same scheduling issue we do. Another good reason MSU should have to play in Ann Arbor two years in a row. #firebrandon

is a given. we will also have way more unknowns on defense, with a totally unproven secondary and lb corps.
November 19th, 2016 at 11:34 PM ^
A more talented group though than they've had in how many years? I'd say the young guys on next years defense are better than the bucs this year and better coached. I think the offense can be just as good if not better next year also. I'm a really optimistic guy as you can tell. 2018 though, everyone better watch the fuck out.

If it's bad OSU, we have a great chance to walk out of Columbus with a W. if it's good OSU, we need a defensive performance for the ages.

I expect the same thing we got last season, an Ohio State that actually does everything its capable of with speed and talent everywhere and Curtis Samuel getting the ball in space where he has a chance to hurt us. I expect JT Barrett to make frustratingly good passes and dodge tacklers. I expect them to be great.
So Michigan will have to be greater.

Great teams win championships.
We'll see next week if we're the former or the latter under Harbaugh.

Hoping we only use him on offense as a decoy. Everyone and their mother knows that when he's on offense now he's getting the ball. It's 11 guys running to the ball. Peppers can't juke them all.

I've thought about that. He could do it well. Perhaps a package of those looks, in case Barrett turns into a real problem.
TBH I'm overall very happy with the defense but I feel like Peppers gets schemed out of his sweet spot too often, with teams either running away from him or leaving him as the EMLOS where he has to eat a block and cannot use his explosiveness in space. It would be nice to see some change-up looks when that happens.

Don't mean to be the negative Nancy, but Meyer has won at least 12 games every year since he's been here.

(Also worth noting that Meyer took over after a one-year downturn for a program that had just won 10 games in the six preceding seasons. In other words, he took an already good team with a very high talent base and made it better.)

If we can stop Samuels and Barret, we can beat them.
Assuming the last two weeks were an aberration and our offense doesn't actually suck now.
