There are...
...days until Michigan wins.
Ricky played running back from 1990 to 1993. He set a Michigan freshman rushing record with 789 yards, which Mike Hart broke in 2004. Ricky earned All-Big Ten honors and rushed for 1,251 yards in his sophomore year. He is currently ranked thirteenth for Michigan all-time rushing yards (2,680). He signed with the Lions as a free agent in 1994, but was waived prior to the season's commencement. The Browns then signed him in 1995, but after their move to Baltimore, he did not see much playing time. Ricky attempted the World League of American Football and Spring Football League, but retired shortley after.

EDIT: There were some typos, but as I stated in a post below, I was in a hurry to get this posted due to a meeting at work. I have since fixed them.
Only twelve days until Michigan football?
There is also a game this Friday night (Saturday in Sydney).

it would have. We were reaching for anything at that point that we thought would make us slightly good/cool/noticeable/remotely relevant. The 98 jersey was a bad gimmick (and frankly was given to Gardner purely out of hope and not because his play had warranted such consideration at the time). Legend jerseys were a particularly dark chapter in Michigan football IMO.

if the guys they selected for them wore them in one game and only one game. It would've been cool one time. After that, I would have to agree, it just looks tacky; especially when some guys had them changed mid-season.

At least we don't force our cheerleaders to wear throwback or legends uniformz...

are behind us now. That stuff had David Brandon all over it. And it was done poorly. If you wanted to honor the number and who had worn it, like someone on here suggested, have it worn for one game.
August 22nd, 2016 at 9:19 AM ^
I have to disagree... If Devin won 10 games wearing 98, no one would have had the bad feelings that we do now. The problem was that it was forced. It was Brandons way of making headlines when we weren't worthy of headlines by our play of the field. It can't be said enough... Fuck Brandon. He is the worst thing to happen to Michigan Football in the long history of Michigan Football.
August 22nd, 2016 at 9:53 AM ^
Probably the worst, but at least up there with App State and the Colorado Hail Mary.
Nah... I can't even joke about Brandon. By far the worst thing to happen to Michigan.

I look at it as just another reason why college football is GOAT. It also helped that we lost to an undefeated PSU team, Wisconsin and OSU. So it was part of a pretty crummy season.
Dave Brandon was the REASON for a pretty crummy number of seasons.

I kinda liked it. I just felt bad for a kid who got a number, maybe even "his" number, only to have to change to someone else's who is more famous. Kinda like telling the kid "no matter how good you are, you'll never be thought of more than so and so".
If they wanted to do the number thing, they should have assigned them to promising kids (athletically or scholastically) when they arrived and not switched them around mid-career.

think I have so disagreed with a post as thoroughly and comprehensively as this one.

because they both play for Michigan. Certainly you can see the nexus.

all of his considerable inconsistently as a passer, that is an absolute dime from Denard. Think of the circumstances there and then look at that pass. One second too early or a foot wide and Roundtree can't get to it, one second too late and/or more toward his inside hip and that is a pick or a PBU at minimum. What a play.
August 22nd, 2016 at 10:53 AM ^
From his true freshman season, you could tell that Denard had a strong arm. Imagine Denard with proper mechanics.
After watching Devin carve up ND and OSU, not to mention almost winning the bowl game against S. Carolina, I fully believe he would've been a Day 1 draft pick if Harbaugh was his coach.

He doesn't by chance have a brother, does he?

whatever odd reason, I feel slightly uncomfortable with the Hawaii game. I kind of wish it was an opponent that was easier to dislike or was simply your standard mid-major or week Power 5. There is just enough novelty to the game that it is a little distracting.

Known MGoBlog Friend and Trusted Agent B-Will.
The last Wolverine to start AND finish their career here at Michigan wearing the number 12!
Here's hoping Chris Evans can buck that trend!!
