Jersey Sneak Peek?
I like what I'm able to see from those shots. Kinda wondering what's up with the neck on the home jersey.
Is it a maize gradient maybe? Or just a mesh?
If I'm not mistaken, it's most likely (but not definitely) the same kind of Nike FlyKnit mesh collar that they've been tossing on the Oregon (and new NFL, I think) unis. I have no opinion on the matter, they can be made to stand out against the jersey, which the Ducks do often, and with gusto, or they can blend in. I think the subtle touch is the obvious play here, would love to get a closer look.
I would prefer it be blue or maize (or amarillo or whatever) instead of grey but I'm nitpicking.
A maize collar would be a massive change. I think it's blue, it's just a mesh so it's a bit more see-through and looks gray.
White pants shouldn't be worn after Labor Day. They also make you look fat..........
Something tells me these were not supposed to be leaked.
Clearly. They would not have planned this big event next weekend if they were going to just release the pictures today. I am thankful for the Internet and people who are willing to leak stuff, though.
There's a little bit of sarcasm in there.
I can't wait to see a better picture, but I like them. Simple and good looking.

Yes, me too. I prefer the maize pants, but the all white grew on me last season. I also used to hate helmet stickers, but those also grew on me. Do I still prefer a clean helmet? Yes.

I think that there is a chance that they will bring back maize pants, as a sort of throw back, uniformz situation, that way they can just choose a year and match the jerseys and we won't look like maize and blue bumblebees. And only wear them once every other year or so.
I don't mind the whites as alternates. I'd like to see blue on the road as alternates, too.
But maize is what almost all of us grew up on, and it's our school color. What good was it to "fix" the maize if we're not going to wear it anyway? There are already plenty of schools wearing white pants. We're the only ones wearing maize. Or at least we were.

This is a font change on the numbers. At least they didn't do what Wisconsin did (or Georgia a handful of years ago), but this is definitely a change. I would have preferred not to, but again, it could be worse.
Look legit but could be concept, they dont seem to have tv numbers on the shoulder...though it could just be the pic obscuring them, either way they are dope

Also no B1G pach/embroidery
I can understand it if you don't like white pants, opinions of which seem to be split pretty evenly. Idk how you can have an issue with the jersey, it looks clean and is infinitely better than anything Adidas has done, with the exception of this past year.

You're that mad over the change in one number? They changed to font to reflect the style of the #2 that was on Jordan's Bulls jersey. It was clearly done with some thought put into it.

You can find solice that the jerseys are a lot better than anything Adidas has done the last decade. You can also do a very quick google search and find out that USC, FSU, and Texas A&M all have the same or a very similar number font. So I gave you a reason for the change (Jordan's Bulls) and have given you other examples of college teams with the same looking #2 on their jerseys. I can't tell you what to bitch and moan about, but I can tell you that the new font on Michigan's jersey's is not something that is out of the ordinary for a college football team or even a professional team as different NFL teams have different fonts, some, again, similar to Michigan's new one too. I really don't see an issue with the new number font, all I can say to those who are against it is, don't buy a jersey with a #2 in it. Otherwise who cares? You're not going to stop watching the games or cheering for the team, you complaining about it isn't going to get the font changed either. Need I remind you that Harbaugh signed off on these and if they are good enough for Harbaugh they sure as hell are good enough for me.
There's something special about the block 2. I wore it for three years in high school because of sir charles. Anything other than the block 2 on the maize and blue just looks wrong.
I had an inkling that harbaugh signed off of the uniform, but wasn't entirely sure. I guess because you confirmed that he did, my entire opinion changes. Thanks for showing me the light.

If you like the block 2 for personal reasons/a personal connection, then that is fine and I have no issue with it. However, that is not what you initially said. You called it a "fuck up" and then asked,
"Why would they fuck up the woodson block 2?"
I provided you with the why aspect of your question.
Then you said "So I should find solice in the idea that they incorporated aspects of a professional basketball jersey into the greatest college football jerseys?"
And I provided you with the fact the new number font is not one used exclusively within the NBA. In fact, there are other tradition rich universities which use it as well as several other college and NFL teams.
I can't tell if the me showing you the light part was sarcastic or not. I know Harbaugh was quoted saying that he saw the jerseys and liked them and that is all I needed to hear.
A question I have for you is this: If your high school football team used a font similar to Michigan's new one, would you still wear #2 because of Charles Woodson? Or would you take a different number because it wasn't the same font? My point is, the tradition is the number itself, no matter the font. I was just answering your questions and trying to show you that the change in the number was calculated and not a "fuck up" and that everything will be ok because it is not as if Michigan is now using some insane font choice that no other school uses. I can respect your personal connection to the block 2, but you should respect that not everyone feels that way or has that same connection.
I wrote the title and then wrote the response then decided against what I wrote and changed it, but forgot to change the subject line. Sorry, that one's on me.
If I didn't read mgoblog then I never ever would've noticed the change in the #2 and rest assured, the other 109,000 people around you on Saturdays won't either
I will say that 5 years of active service and about 3 more of sporadic lurking on MGoBlog has made me far more attuned to jersey minutiae than I think I ever would have been otherwise. It's quite amazing, the level of detail at which things are praised or criticized around here when it come to apparel. Honestly shocked that we don't have electron scanning microscope images of jerseys in threads sometimes.
HEY MGoBoardMembers!!! DOES ANYONE HAVE ACCESS TO AN ELECTRON SCANNING MICROSCOPE???
Heck Oregon dedicates there jerseys and logo to the amount of nattys they have...as long as they get those croots!
It's the same uni with a different maker's mark, and a slightly different font. I'd call that a win.
Is it just me or is there something really crazy going on around the neck of the home jersey?
