I have read before, both here and on other boards, that the problem with retiring Woodson's #2 was the fact that he didn't graduate. No idea if this was speculation, or an actual requirement, but he would be the first player not to have graduated to have his number retired iirc.

Probably Wisconsin. Big-time B1G matchup and we haven't played them since Bo was the head coach.

I thought a 5X+ exageration would suffice, but alas, I have been bested.
+1 to you.

PSU being a dumpster fire might be a good reason to play them at night...thumping a historically name program with strong east coast recruting ties in a nationally televised night game would feel goooood :)
Seriously, I suspect UM faces PSU much more on the recruiting trail than Wisc so beating them up with all the recruits watching would be my preference.

Just ask em - in fact ask any B1G team, we're their biggest rival.

National championship game, which would be 2017 actually I guess.

Wisconsin - however I feel like it may be PSU for some reason.
December 23rd, 2015 at 10:22 AM ^
Wisconsin. Especially since we haven't played them in forever.

2016: Wisconsin
2018: Nebraska
2020: Virginia Tech
2022: UCLA
2024: Texas
2026: Oklahoma
You could do odd years as well, but that would put the early October game with MSU squarely into play. If they're trying to avoid a Sparty night game, the 2017 schedule sets up so that if they wanted to go with every-year-night-games, that MSU game would unavoidable (there's nothing else in September or October that makes sense). However that would also get you a nice game with Iowa in 2019 and Washington in 2021. Home schedule for 2023 and 2025 have not been determined yet.

That lines up really nicely.
I don't think you'd get an argument about any of those being a prime time night game.
December 23rd, 2015 at 10:24 AM ^
shouldn't be considered. My vote is Wisc.
December 23rd, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
Why not?
I'm assuming you will say something like, "because that is not a big game or worthy opponent for a night game."
I don't understand this thinking. Why does every night game in Ann Arbor have to be some huge event against a marquee team? To me, playing at night is just another time of the day. I, for one, would love to see Michigan beat the crap out of someone (in this case, Hawaii) on national TV at night.

Having read many of your comments over the past few months, I'd say there's a lot about Michigan Traditions and attitudes you do not get.
Maybe it's being from an upside down Hemisphere?
Or is it because our "night" is actually your "morning" 2 days hence?

Night games pose a lot of hassles for fans at the stadium that day games do not. If you drive a long distance to get to Ann Arbor, you've got to decide to either get a hotel or drive long into the night afterwards. For all that, it'd be nice to play a good opponent.

I hope we play both at night. Back-to-back night games at The Big House would be fantastic. I know we play the #3, #5, and #7 teams in the country on the road next year, but I really like the way our schedule shapes up.
Nine B1G games, we play B1G West favorites Wisconsin and Iowa in cross-divisional matchup, one Pac 12 home game, and we play eight total games at home. It should be a riveting success.
December 23rd, 2015 at 10:33 AM ^
I think I might go insane at the idea of the B1G opener being a night game. If it was even two or three games later I would say Wiscy for sure.

This 100%.
Especially frustrating for my family because we have 3 Badgers and 2 Wolverines and have now had to wait 6 years.
