Taking Friday off to drive up...
September 27th, 2015 at 4:30 PM ^
Lot #2 tailgating and sections 2, 205, 305 for seating.
September 27th, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
I'll be there. Flying in Friday.
Special request: I'm trying to do this trip without having to rent a car. Is anyone going to be staying near the D.C. area and want to carpool? I'll pay generously for gas. My hotel is in Chantilly, VA.
You'd be doing a huge favor to help out an MGoPhotographer!

It's the lot next to their Field Hockey Stadium. Or - if you have the money, the donor lots near Ludwig Field are AWESOME.
Xfinity Center is a hike to Byrd. Not impossible, but it's a decent walk from the back of campus to the center of campus.
But if you want the best spots...try to get to the Field Hockey Stadium lots.

I may just do that. I believe I'll be in Lot 1, but I'll probably be walking all over the place.

Ha - I was at the ND game, and it was the first time I ever left a game early. I told my wife at halftime that if we didn't score by the end of third, we were leaving. And we did. That was bad. Went to the Rutgers game since that is a short drive for me, and that game was horrible too. I still can't believe that they stormed the field after. Thank God they won the Northwestern game, I would've lost my mind going to another losing road game. Props to you for going to C-bus and E. Lansing - I can't imagine the torment you went through wearing our colors in those awful places. I just don't have the patience for that I would never put my wife through that.
I will definitely be at Maryland Saturday.

Last year I went to South Bend, East Lansing, and Columbus, so I feel your pain.
Hoping for wins this year in College Park and Happy Valley

Drops you off in College Park. I have heard but cannot confirm that the metro stop is far from the stadium but there are shuttles (I hear). I think I'll be driving over there but it might make more sense to metro to the station then cab, bus, or Uber from there.
September 27th, 2015 at 3:47 PM ^
The metro station is a good 15 minute walk from campus (good old Maryland admin back in the 90s when they were buiding the metro requested for the metro to remain off-campus, as they were afraid the "rif-raff" would hang-around campus...huge mistake), and a then a good 20 minute walk once you are on campus to Byrd stadium.
Really its about the same distance as walking from Kerrytown to Michigan Stadium (but more twists and turns).
Shuttles are rare from the metro station on weekends, and they are only for Maryland students and staff.
Also keep in mind there is so much construction on the Metro presently, the metro trains may be running, 1 every 20 minutes or so on the weekends.
If you choose to uber, might as well just do it from wherever you are starting versus using the Metro and then ubering. It would save a lot of time.

I will be there with my son for his first Michigan game.
Somebody on here said that there will be a lot of Michgian fans tailgating at lot C1 before the game, so that's where I am parking. I will also be going to the Alumin tailgate at around 5:00 or so.

With Maryland's record so far this season, we're going to own that stadium.
Big House, er, Little House East.

I'll be there with my brother and cousin. They're flying down from Michigan and I'm driving up from NC. Gonna do some sightseeing on Friday and Saturday morning. Excited to see College Park and a Michigan victory!

I'll be making the trip, and it will be historic personally!
By seeing Michigan play at Maryland with my Dad he and I will complete the schedule. Meaning we will have seen UM play at all 14 Big Ten Stadiums, plus ND and the Rose Bowl. The fun part too abotu this trip Dad and I have gone on is we were in Happy Valley for UM's first big ten game at PSU, ditto for Nebraska, Rutgers and now Maryland.
Looking forward to a fun trip, crab cakes and of course Yuengling too!
Go Blue!

I will be in the Michigan Alumni section 302 DD. Anybody know where those seats are? Good / bad / indifferent?
September 27th, 2015 at 4:11 PM ^
They're going to be somewhat high up there; the equivalent is basically where we put visiting fans in the top 10 rows of the South Endzone in the Big House.
But the stadium is small so there isn't a truly bad seat. You should be able to see everything very well, but I have heard that the 300 deck is very steep, FWIW
