I thought they were saying - you shuck. Started at the Nebraska game, no?

I thought it was about Cher.

It's lame.
You may want to edit the title of your post, though.

especially in games where we were getting blown out. It seemed really odd that the one time we have a third down stop in a blowout loss we're telling the other team that they suck, even though we might be losing by a lot. Never really got that and always thought it was in poor taste regardless.
I do see how it goes with the whole "Michigan arrogance" thing but is it really necessary to keep doing it? Even Ace has called for fans to stop.
This topic has been discussed many times and becomes downvote city in a hurry, so I'll just say Go Blue and In Before Delete.

Everyone hates it and it's not going anywhere. Better to make peace with it. Also thread title of the year nominee.

Cry about it

It's stupid and crude.
There are other aspects of modern society that are also stupid and crude, and it seems more and more accepted, if not considered acceptable.
Don't have a clue as to how to stop any of it.

Because it's lame and more childish than clever. We can do better. Plus it's not even "tradition". It was started circa 2002. That's why.

Arrogant and/or crude is fine. The problem is that it's not creative or funny. Not to mention we are the ones who have been sucking for the last 10 years or so.

So...are you calling us 'cheer'?
September 20th, 2015 at 9:38 AM ^
So lets do what hockey does and be offensive! Now that is creative and totally acceptable and a mark of true leaders!

It's annoying. I regard it as a RichRod/Hoke-era holdover that needs to be put to pasture.
Why not just "GO BLUE!" at the end?

I had grad student tickets in 2005 and do not remember it from that time. Maybe some isolated students did it but it was definitely not the entire section.

I was an undergrad during the 2004-2007 seasons and feel like it became widespread at some point during that time. Before that, I had gone to a game my senior year of HS and don't remember it then.

MMB 97-2001. It was already present and in pretty good force during that time.

It was there in full force...not sure how you missed it
