Vince Marrow turned down Harbaugh because of OSU family ties
This is per cleveland.com.The story says it's one reason but his wife and many other in=laws are OSU alums.
Edit: Hard to believe he would be such an idiot to let that stand in the way of a career advancement opportunity. Glad he didn't come.

Marrow is a self-promoter who initiated the contact with Harbaugh and leveraged the job offer into a better deal for himself at UK.
We dodged a bullet when UK gave Vince Marrow a raise and signed him to a three year contract.

maybe we should read into this a little more so we can definitively declare that marrow is, in fact, the spawn of satan himself.
or maybe, just maybe, instead of disparaging a man's character for the flimsiest of reasons, we could just let this shit go and be happy as hell that jim fucking harbaugh is now the head coach of michigan footbal?
nahhhh

I don't think any UM fans, players, recruits, coaches, etc. will miss not having him on the staff. That's my opinion anyway.

He better hope his Kentucky gamble works out. Their fans are starting to believe that they are an actual SEC team and not just along for the ride.
They are not going to settle for too many more 5-7, 6th place SEC East Division finishes.

We will not see a difference next year.

This guy just needs to shut up about us and worry about MSU snake oiling his own recruits.
Oh and if you're putting your career potential on hold cuz of sports rivalries... well then that is just hilarious and stupid.

I'm glad Bo, who did get a master's at OSU, was intelligent enough to know Michigan was a great opportunity.

If his family ties to Ohio State were that important, he should have thought of that before he interviewed and wasted everybody's time.
The more he talks, the happier I am that he "turned us down" and stayed at UK.
January 31st, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
Coach Gary Moeller never had a problem beating his old team when he coached us.

I've never seen this much uproar over a position coach who has coached DI football for three years and is known as not being a hard worker.
January 31st, 2015 at 11:52 AM ^
First time I've heard the not a hard worker about him. Any sources on that?

Whatever. Harbaugh's success will not hinge upon a good recruiting TE coach. Marrow didn't join the staff, and UM will move on accordingly.
January 31st, 2015 at 11:41 AM ^
in another post it was stated how Harbaugh doesnt forget those things such as a coach turning him down. As he establishes his recruiting territory ,I am sure Marrow's areas of Ohio will become recruiting priorities. Who's got it better than us????

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Buckeye fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were too.
Not really knowing what a Buckeye fan was but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.
There is, however, one exception. A girl named Kristen has not gone along with the crowd.
The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a Buckeye fan."
Then, asks the teacher, what are you? "Why I'm a proud Michigan Wolverine fan," boasts the little girl.
The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red.
She asks Kristen why she is a Wolverine fan. "Well, my mom and dad are Wolverine fans, so I'm a Wolverine fan too."
The teacher is now angry.
"That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?"
After a pause, and a smile, Kristen says... "Then I'd be a Buckeye fan."
