Delay free radio of Michigan games now available inside the stadium
University of Michigan football fans will be able to listen to the flagship radio broadcast featuring Jim Brandstatter and Dan Dierdorf without delay inside Michigan Stadium this season thanks to a partnership between WTKA Radio and the Michigan/IMG Radio Network. The three parties worked to eliminate several of the elements that normally lead to a significant delay with a radio station.
WTKA’s AM 1050 in Ann Arbor will be airing Michigan football games without delay during the 2014 season, meaning fans can bring a radio to the games and hear the commentary from Brandstatter and Dierdorf in virtual real time as the play unfolds before their eyes.

They did this before, but now you don't have to buy a $20 in-ear radio that won't work after the season is over. Excellent.

That's all fine and dandy, but what about if I want to listen to the radio broadcast from home rather than Beth Mowens and Joey Galloway (TERRIBLE)?

Are radios on the approved list of things one can bring into the stadium?

Wasn't sure if you were serious, so I checked the mgoblue site and it indicates this stuff is still prohibited. Lest someone rely on this.

I was just being a dick.
It was the worse feeling the first time I found out binocular cases were prohibited as I had to go over to Crisler and get it checked. It wasn't bad getting it checked in but it took forever to get back after the game with a huge line.

That's great. I hate those delays. I'd like to watch Browns games with the radio broadcast of Jim Donovan instead of the TV guys, but the delay with the radio and DIRECTV is about seven to ten seconds, so that doesn't cut it.

Mark my words: there will be a way to watch the game on TV with the radio feed playing over it someday.

But sometimes the radio is ahead of the teevee. I've found this listening to Tiger games. I love Dan and Jim and very much prefer them to Mario and Rod, so I mute and turn on the radio, but there is bit of a head start sometimes. Worth it though.

I've done that for years - just have to synch up the timing. Works as long as the TV is ahead of the radio and you have a DVR. In my experience sat radio usually lags a little

Probably not threadworthy on it's own, but somewhat related: University of Oregon improved cell service inside their stadium. So we are not the only ones to consider this upgrade important.
