Hoke's OL as of today & other presser bits
At today's press conference when asked "if the season started today" Hoke's response on the OL was:
Cole - Mags - Miller - ??? - Braden
Kalis is back practicing today, could be him, Bosch or Burzynski at RG. Hoke claimed he likes Miller at C, Braden and Cole have been good - "you don't notice Cole" which I guess is a good thing for a Tackle, he's not getting constantly beat.
Where will Glasgow fit when he's back from suspension?
Also despite Peppers looking awesome at corner Hoke says he's going to start at Nickel before they throw him out at Boundary often. That said, my guess is we'll see a lot of him.

welp, apparently my task for the day is to watch the mad max trilogy so that i may be a contributing member of society. so be it.

from the first to the second movie was the correct choice.
It probably was from a making money viewpoint.
He run Bartertown.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was after Mad Max 2.

Three was just a tad more absurd than two. That picture represents the continued descent pretty well.
The execs saw how much more money the second movie made and thus took it even further in three.

Long as Kalis slots into RG that's about what I'd hoped for

I think "set" doesn't mean what you think it does.

Well yeah....now that you edited the original post that's pretty clear.

Hoke said Cole at LT, Magnuson at LG, Miller at C, Braden at RT. RG seems to be the wide open position between Bosh, Joey B and Kalis.

Hoke said there isn't a clear cut No. 1 RB. Green, Smith and Johnson are still the top three.

Trying to be optimistic, but I don't think these positions are wide open because we have a bunch of great players competing for them.

Does he displace Miller? Kalis/Bosch? Or does he go to LG and bump Mags to LT?
I'm hoping for option 1, then 2, then 3. If it's 3 I'd hate to think that Cole burned his RS for nothing.
That said, a true freshman will be Alabama's starting LT too this year..

He got hurt in the scrimmage. Ankle or foot thing... they taped it up and sent him back out, only to pull him again after a few plays. He was walking normally off the field from what I could tell, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was being held out (these things tend to be worse the day or two days after they happen). And, there's also the suspension thing, so they may just be trying to find their Aug30 lineup right now.

Someone asked if Glasgow would replace Miller, Hoke that was one possibility.
I think Glasgow is the leader at RG right now. Not sure if that slides Kalis (whom Hoke confirmed is working at both OG spots) to LG and Magnuson to LT, or if that means Kalis, Bosch, and Joey are on the outside looking in.

Could it be that Hoke can't identify a top RB because none of them can gain any yards with the current state of our OL? Honest question.

August 20th, 2014 at 4:30 PM ^
I think Hoke is searching desparately for a running back that doesnt need those hole-type thingies to run through for positive yards.
So far we've been unsuccessful in that quest.

Does anyone know when they will find out about Ty Isaac's eligibility?
August 20th, 2014 at 5:24 PM ^
So far no timeline has been announced, even Hoke said he doesn't know when. Waiting on NCAA.
August 20th, 2014 at 6:19 PM ^
With the NCAA being what it is, I'm fully expecting a February announcement that yes, Isaac hypothetically could have played in 2014.

August 20th, 2014 at 5:12 PM ^
I been wondering this since the scrimmage, could it be that the interchanging on the OL is cause for the RB not getting familair with a set O Line group allowing them to bulid a chemistry with one group?
