Oh, I wasn't knocking it.  The poster above me said he'd be showing off his NC ring, or something to that affect.  I was stating that he wasn't even with the team for it, along with the B1GCG, Rose Bowl and NC.  Sucks he left early.  He went the entire year without taking a snap... what's a few more weeks with your boys for those opportunities?  Again, not knocking his decision.  Although, on the surface, it's hard to understand, especially to pay your way at OSU and not play baseball.

You better believe that staff is going to be interrogating him non-stop on what UM does on D. Though with Wink coming in I would hope any advantage that has would be largely mitigated.

This is totally fine but iPhone videos made by people hired from Task Rabbit are the greatest scandal in the history of college athletics, if not the world.

So much weird shit that's inexplicable in college football that I can't care for everything.  And I won't.

Please fast forward to September.

Because baseball is his main sport...you guys are incredibly uninformed fans based on the previous comments in this thread. It's not that hard folks...oh wait, never mind, EVERYBODY IS GOING TO TRANSFER AND THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!

Is Ohio State that desperate that they are poaching kids on our team who barely saw Special Teams minutes?  I am pretty sure Joey just wanted to move on and Ohio State is allowing him this opportunity.  The idea that by taking him is now going to give OSU an information advantage is ridiculous!

If you're paying your own way* and walking on to the football team, chances are pretty good that you're actually there to play school and football may not be the most important thing in your life.

Good for him if he has a plan for life after football and he's carrying it out.

* no, I have no idea what NIL looks like for a deep bench special teams player

He's a grad student who has played for Michigan for 5 years. Do we know if he would have a scholarship here next year? There's a possibility that the Michigan football and/or baseball team has given him a firm handshake and thanked him for his time and said it's time to move on, but he wants to keep playing sports so he's moving back to his hometown to be able to do that. This really doesn't seem like an issue to me

I know he's a baseball player as well so this decision may stem more from a baseball perspective than a football one.

I don't wish him ill personally, but from a football perspective, his departure subtracts nothing from Michigan's program and adds nothing to OSU's. I'm not sure he saw the field once in his time here. I wish you nothing but pain and misery on the football field for the rest of your collegiate career.

Then I guess my only question is how much is OSU paying him just to come down and tell them everything he knows about Michigan's playbook? Because he ain't coming down to start anywhere on that roster. Or even be a true depth piece anywhere.

Day is pushing all his chips to the middle of the table for this season. Its truly national title or bust, so given that Velazquez never saw the field when he was here, I imagine his only use to a program like OSU's is "Tell me everything you know about Michigan's playbook."

After losing 3 straight to Michigan, maxton auto group and digeranimo escavating and the like are pumping millions into their NIL efforts.... they're buying players like no one's business.  they want Joey to be their Stalions, but Wink will change the signs, so it'll just be more money poured down the drain......

Huge loss. I don’t know who we’re gonna get to keep his spot on the bench warm. If he’s good enough to play at OSU then it’s worse than I thought over there. Special Teams asset I guess. In all seriousness, I hope he finds what he’s looking for.

I get he's from Columbus but I mean why not go somewhere you can get on the field instead of a walk-on?

I think you answered your own question. He’s a walk on. Wouldn’t he be paying out of state tuition at M? Maybe he still loves to compete but doesn’t want to owe a fuck-ton (or is it fuckton?) of money when he’s done?
Although he likely already is in pretty deep…
