Harbaugh to Chargers confirmed :(
January 24th, 2024 at 7:20 PM ^
And an OC! Please no first time HC while keeping play calling duties
January 24th, 2024 at 6:49 PM ^
....well....shit.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:49 PM ^
Get Warde the HELL out.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
This was a Jim wants a Super Bowl thing, he's talked about it for twenty years.
If we're firing him, fire him for the Mel Pearson debacle.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
Agree completely.
If Harbaugh said "I'll stay as long as Warde is fired," Warde would be packing his bags.
Harbaugh wants to win a Super Bowl. And it's pretty clear that he can. Warde has biffed some stuff, but he can't do anything about that.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
I'd love to know if any of the administration was truly a culprit of Jim leaving. I think most people realize that Jim wants that SB ring, but there was an awful lot of smoke during the season of the admin screwing around. Not saying this was or had anything to do with Jim, but acted as an accelerant.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
Warde wins. Stapleton wins. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Head Coach of your defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines, Ron English!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:49 PM ^
Sherrone Moore is about to become next Michigan head coach. That’s awesome!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
the 21st head coach in Michigan history
January 24th, 2024 at 6:55 PM ^
Sherrone seems like the choice. I really like Deboer before Bama plucked him.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:51 PM ^
Eh, that remains to be seen I think. Handing the keys to a first time HC comes with a lot of risks.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
So does a long coaching search. Remember, when many of us wanted Harbaugh gone, the leading candidate (I was never enthralled with him, but he was the hot name) was Matt Campbell.
Harbaugh has built the program very well. Roll with Moore, see what we have. Keep the roster together--this defense will be one of the best in the country.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
Signed. This can’t turn into some giant cluster that ends with player after player hitting the portal. If Sherrone steps right in then things should just keep rolling.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:06 PM ^
There are enormous risks for sure but also insider types seem to think its our best shot to maintain the culture and not have the roster gutted like Bama or UW
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
We will see if it is awesome. It is much better than the Juwan hire in that he has experience and is a really good OL coach where Juwan was an unknown who could supposedly recruit well.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
Nobody on our staff recruits well. We develop and identify extremely well. I would like to start doing both.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:49 PM ^
We can say whatever we want about Warde, but this was all about Harbaugh wanting a Super Bowl. He came up with any reason to not sign an extension so he could leave and blame it on the bear hug or whatever.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
Well…at least we can finally start making decisions and try and salvage a little bit of recruiting momentum coming off the national championship
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
Good luck Jim. Hope you win the Super Bowl.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
Fire Warde!
Not cause I thought he could have kept Harbaugh, just out of principle.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:51 PM ^
Now we'll bring Juwan back next year to complete the Warde Manuel wtf tour.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
It would be the most Michigan thing possible to utterly implode both major sports immediately after winning a national title 😂
January 24th, 2024 at 6:54 PM ^
Unless you subscribe to the Michigan Basketball-Football Inversion Theory, in which case continued basketball futility is crucial to a smooth football transition.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:55 PM ^
You are the most broken record here.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:51 PM ^
Good luck and thanks for every great thing you did. Go win a Super Bowl (unless it's against the Lions).
Coach Moore -- look forward to your continuing and expanding on the recent greatness. Go get 'em!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
He did everything he said, now go win a Super Bowl
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
Fucking hell.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
I’m relieved and actually happy. This soap opera was not working anymore. Moore will be a better recruiter and recruits will know that a long term coach will be in place.
Go Moore
January 24th, 2024 at 6:54 PM ^
Without NIL at Michigan, I doubt Moore will be a much better recruiter.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:55 PM ^
I mean, we literally have no idea how well Moore will be able to recruit. Little premature to declare him Harbaugh 2.0 don’t you think?
January 24th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^
A lot of idiots are going to feel really silly for being relieved that harbaughs gone. Idk if you guys are all like 15 years old but there are dark days coming
January 24th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^

I mean, I'd feel silly if I triple posted. I'm not predicting how things will turn out, but I'll support the coaches and players who stay. "Difficult to see ... always in motion is the future."
January 24th, 2024 at 7:03 PM ^
Actually, we do. Our OL recruits have been pretty good and recruits seem to love him.
I would have loved to have fully committed Jim here, but that was never going to happen. The man loves the NFL, and no one can blame him for that. A good NFL job is much better than the best college position.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
I also think it’s worth not underestimating the impact, a charismatic black head football coach will make regarding recruiting.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
How it feels now that the soap opera has finished.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
For UM, this might be for the best. Harbaugh’s constant playing-around with NFL teams is hurting UM in the transfer portal and with recruiting. Expect Michigan to announce tomorrow that Sherrone Moore is the new HC.

Thanks for the National Championship and good luck coach … now everyone can breathe and go on with their lives and relax !!!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
I’m good with it.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
enjoy the smog
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
Good luck JH! Glad this whole thing is over and everyone can move on.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
End of an era. But, it's for the best for both parties right now given the circumstances. Let's all be thankful for what the last 3 years have brought, and look forward to the bright future of Michigan football.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
While I don’t blame Ward, I hope the ncaa is happy. JH righted the ship and now there’ll be no more NFL talk every offseason. Good luck and support Sherrone and staff.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:56 PM ^
How can you not blame Warde?
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
Thanks Jim for the past 8/9 years, plus your QB days. We'll remember and idolize you.
Anyway, moving on.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
Dang. Couldn't have left us after a better run. Leave everyone but Jay and Minter please.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
I love Jim. Thank you for bringing a championship. Thank you for bringing Michigan football back.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:54 PM ^
Sherrone, you ARE the new Michigan head coach.
Side note: Has a national champion ever lost their head coach immediately afterwards before?
