They get the CFP right. We'll see if the committee does, too.

When do the actual selections drop? ESPN has a 4-hour show today, starting at noon, and I ain't watchin' all that.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
12 noon we will know the 4 in the CFP
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:53 AM ^
Not sure if it’s accurate, but the article on CBS says that the final 6 isn’t released until 2:30 p.m. ET. I recall in the past the huge show window felt like it was dragging forever until CFP matchups were released, so I think they may be correct.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:56 AM ^
Read the CBS article. Says the top 4 released at noon and the rest at 2:30
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:37 PM ^
My mistake — I read the sentence re: releasing the final CFP and NY6 at 2:30 pm as applying to these games and the noon reference to just to show itself.

ESPN needs as much time as possible to campaign for SEC teams to be included.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:41 AM ^
The length of the broadcast gives the committee more time to cram to finish their homework. I'd expect them to take every minute they can.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:57 AM ^
They normally get the information out pretty quick. They need to beat the NFL kickoffs at 1pm.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:35 AM ^
Please, please be the CFP seeds.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:35 AM ^
This is incredible and not just for Michigan. Michigan is the first number one team from outside of the South since Ohio State held the number one spot in 2015.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
This truly is incredible. Just shows you the stranglehold the south has had on college football. I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:44 AM ^
The NCAA rule which prohibits / limits where teams can conduct camps just helps enable that - and make it more difficult to recruit in the SEC / ACC footprints.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:09 PM ^
Fuck the NCAA
December 3rd, 2023 at 1:12 PM ^
That was Harbaugh Rule #1.
The NCAA has a separate Harbaugh Rule chapter at this point.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
Just win!
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
Nice. Maybe we should just use the AP rankings instead of the committee.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
Spot on. Go Blue !
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:41 AM ^
They've been getting it wrong all year, but finally they got the most important one right.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:42 AM ^
Know it doesnt mean much in the big scheme of things.
But...
WE'RE #1!!!!
That felt good - been awhile...

Look, I'm no OSU fan but they should be at least number 6. One loss to the number one team on the road. Why is Georgia better than OSU other than they're Georgia and OSU fans are cooler poopers?
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:48 AM ^
OSU didn't play a 13th game, which has to count for something. But I do agree with you overall. Just going on the eye test, I think OSU is easily top 4. Possibly as high as 2, I genuinely think they're better than Washington. It's entirely possible that the real national championship game was last weekend in Ann Arbor.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
I agree with that last sentence for sure. My point wasn't just about the last game for Georgia, though. Many have been making excuses for Georgia's mediocre play and near misses all season. OSU almost beat Georgia last year. Who has the worst loss, Georgia to number 8 Alabama on a neutral site or OSU to number 3 Michigan in Ann Arbor?
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
Georgia played a 13th game and OSU didn't. OSU can't really complain.
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:00 PM ^
By any measurable data point, for sure. To my eye, and going on vibes, I think OSU has a real case for top 2 or 3. Next year it won't matter anymore, all these teams will be in and will get a chance on some level.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
Beat Iowa
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
I had to check to make sure they aren't on next years schedule. They're not, thank goodness. We should just pay them to get out of any future games, lol.

A simple phrase as Bama and Georgia work the media to request their presence in the CFP… “Win the Game.”
I don’t question that Bama and Georgia are good teams. But, so are the other four P5 champs.
Georgia and Bama were in position at the season’s start to control their fate. My thought is.. “Close, but no cigar”.
Let’s see what the Selection Committee gives us.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:52 AM ^
Of course, the last time we won the national championship. This is exciting!
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
Nice. Well, AP did this right. ESPN and Finebaum mad at AP now. LOL.
December 3rd, 2023 at 11:55 AM ^
I am fine with Texas getting left out. As long as we don't have to play Bama in the first round. It was always an uphill battle to try and beat Bama or UGA. I just want our shot in the finals. Texas can get hosed by their new SEC brethren. The company you keep.

The joy of seeing us Number 1! Incredible! Go Blue!
December 3rd, 2023 at 12:11 PM ^
First time in my life I have seen us ranked here. Go blue!!!!!!
