College Football Gameday Open Thread

They're at JMU this morning, where everyone is hoping the NCAA makes some late decision to let them into the club.

Why give these guys clicks, you ask?  Because Michigan accepted everything the B1G complained about and as such validated everything ever said.  So get over it.  Business as usual...

Both shows hit at the same time - Fox had Feldman talking how bad it is, switching over to ESPN showed Thamel starting up.  Back to Fox to hear  that Jim will be looking at the NFL next year from Feldman.

JFC - Some nobody on staff, in his first employment gig, bought a ticket for a friend to 'video tape' a game WITH AN iPHONE FROM THE 3RD DECK!!!  And it's NOT EVEN CLEAR if that is actually against rules!!!

Recruiting violations?  JFC - two kids that already signed their LOIs showed up during Covid and Harbaugh probably bought them lunch.  WHO FUCKING CARES???

And for those reasons, Michigan is the world's worst cheater.

Fuck the fuck all the fucking way off.

I might still be angry about this...

I still think Michigan needs to fight back/get retribution against everyone after all this is over (after the season is over). They need to release whatever dirt they have on OSU for being bitch-ass snitches. They need to threaten to release whatever dirt they have on the other schools or threaten to leave the conference unless those other schools that wanted Michigan punished apologize or make up for it somehow. I'd be happy with Michigan not sharing any of its revenue for a 3 year period as a penalty. Pettiti needs to be replaced for how he's handled this whole thing. Also, I hope Michigan sues ESPN for libel.. I know they are an "opinion" show, but wasn't Dominion able to win a case against Fox News for the lies they spouted on their "opinion" shows?

Think about how unfair this whole thing is: just because a bunch of people, including the NCAA and ESPN, don't like Harbaugh, they can coordinate a PR smear campaign based on a level 2 violation to force him out and it looks like it's going to work. Harbaugh was upsetting the status quo of OSU being the top dog in the conference and trying to get some of the TV revenue to the players, and so they all decided that he has to go. I dont know why the B1G prefers OSU so much to Michigan but I digress. This would not happen to any other school. The SEC wouldn't allow this shit to happen to one of these schools. They protect each other. And if a scheme like this was reported against OSU or Bama or Georgia, it would be forgotten about almost immediately.

Wait a minute.  Every network talks about the Recruiting Violations during Covid.

The NCAA talks about a level playing field - ensuring that teams with available funding don’t get a competitive advantage.

Texas spends $ 280K for Arch Manning’s OV.

Harbaugh can’t recall buying a couple of cheeseburgers (and fries - I believe) - for two already committed players when the campus was on lockdown.

If only there was enough money to cover the additional warranty costs for helmets with sideline communication equipment - like many high schools already use - this would be a complete non issue.

I want to understand who the PI firm is that provided the color coded Master Spreadsheet, and who told ESPN about the Suspension thirty minutes before Michigan was informed.

Word from Charissa Thompson on the sidelines is that Sherrone Moore serenaded the team with a harp solo and Harbaugh plans to watch the game above the stadium using a jetpack.

I love to watch games, but no way on the talking heads. ESPN is anti-Michigan, and FOX has Urban front and center. Nope, I've got the Michigan preview on 97.1

Go Blue!!

Watching talking heads today has me thinking that if someone is not a man of sacrifice and selflessness, he can never understand those who are such men.

It is quite plain to me that Harbaugh has his players in mind, first and foremost. This is where they and the rest of the staff have learned to operate this way for each other.

I don't know the details of what went into the decision settle. But I have a sturdy certainty that the principle behind it was that it is best for the players over the next two weeks, and the rest of their lives.

He knew that these other, disgusting human beings would be out there insinuating negative things about his character because he settled. But he's willing to take that hit. Remember his press conference on player revenue sharing. He knew they'd come after him for that, too.

They will never understand him. And they will never have the camaraderie, accomplishment, or joy of a team like this.

Great comment.  That is Harbaugh’s persona.   He’s been the epitome of “taking any heat” since he arrived.

An old coach had a saying - “If things didn’t go well, I did it.   If things went ok, we did it.  If things went great, the did it.”    Bear Bryant said that.

Harbaugh adopts the same approach.

Go Blue..
