Aidan Hutchinson-excellent player & dancer
A piece on Aidan Hutchinson on The Athletic. (Sorry if it's $).
Key points:
• continues to shine as a player (4 interceptions & 14 sacks in 26 games, matched only by Brian Urlacher)
• competitive dance as a kid, helps his spin move
• he meditates before games (he, his mom, and sisters are spiritual, do vision boards)

Thanks for sharing "The Secret" to Hutchinson's success on the field. It's crazy how his career has manifested at this point.

Made sure to cancel my Athletic subscription after Ari Wasserman's latest opinion hit-piece against Michigan. I don't miss it.

The Athletic completely bombed its reputation after that.
The amount of personal attacks, defamation, and gaslighting against Michigan coaches, players, students, alumni, and fans is completely off-base.
This shit makes me nervous being so pervasive in our culture because it's quite literally how fascism roots itself in our institutions.
Scale this bullshit up to government and you've got South American style defenstrations and murders of political opponents.
Americans are fucking stupid.

Nice that Michigan alum, Nicole Auerbach, is helping to lead the charge against Michigan. Seems like Michigan alumni writers feel like they have to go fully anti Michigan to somehow prove they don't have bias.

Thank God for Des and Charles.

Nicole has been very disappointing. I don't expect her to be a homer, but I would have appreciated some objectivity and push back against some of the more egregious takes, but alas.

This stuff is deeply rooted in US culture and periodically bubbles up. Strom Thurmond even equivocated anti-lynching laws with communism back in the mid 20th century. Not to get political, only to highlight how mainstream and proud this country is of our long and established tradition of rule-and-murder-by-mobs.

Yes let’s not give them free advertising here

I think I took calculus from an Ari Wasserman in the 90s. He was a good professor, even if he wore the same flannel over and over again.

Ari Wasserman owes me a bj

I think a lot of Michigan's success on the gridiron is associated with the culture of the team.
One key player in establishing that culture was - Aidan.
He didn't have to stay for the '21 season. He didn't have to focus on defeating Ohio State. He didn't have to lead / rally the team to focus on their mission. But, he did.
My ongoing gratitude to Aidan for his impact on Michigan football.
He and his family will always be welcome at our tailgate.
Go Blue!

He visits kids at Mott before games, writes one kid's name on his water bottle.
Dancing as a kid, got called gay. Happens to us dancers sometimes.

Keep on dancing if you enjoy it. Orientation should not be an issue.

I have a great-nephew who does Irish Dance. I can't help but notice that every time I see a picture of him he seems to be surrounded by young women. He's a great young man if you overlook the inherited ND fandom.

That ND fandom negates some of those good points. Otherwise I'm sure he's a fine young man.

It seems "the way" a lot of dance takes place today doesn't require a "lead" - as swing (and other more traditional forms of) dance does.
I'm old school - enjoy dancing (with my lovely bride) - and, when the opportunity presents itself, at a wedding, other occasion - we head to the dance floor - and "cut the rug".
Our favorite type of music is usually from the Motown area, or a derivative - when holding your partners hands - spinning & twirling - in a three or four step base, can be a LOT of fun.

I think his dad was a big reason for that too. I recall a story where his dad told him if he left, then he (his dad) would always have a ring and Aidan wouldn’t.

Great story. Now - father and son can compare rings.

Aidan and JJ with a little meditation! Seems to be working.

Great guy. Legend. Great player. Not a good dancer, which is fine.
