Anyone have early thoughts about Michigan-OSU?
I can't help myself. The Game is on my mind at the moment. 🤷🏾♂️
As of right now, I'm a little concerned about Michigan's situation at OT. OSUs defense has improved and the threat of Egbuka, Harrison, and Henderson is significant.
What are your thoughts?

OSU is a very good team.
We'll likely need to pass more than we just did. If the OT is an issue, get JJ rolling out where he can run or pass.
Put pressure on McCord, don't let him sit still in the pocket.

The OSU pass rush is good but not as good as Penn State's pass rush. Michigan has beaten most teams on the road more soundly than OSU has beaten them playing at home. Michigan is the better team but turnovers and big plays matter so I plan to cut my grass rather than white-knuckle it through the game.

On a couple of those early pressures, the PSU edge rusher was shot out of a cannon and timed the snap perfectly. Nobody on our team was going to block him. I'm hopeful this can be cleaned up, and I doubt that OSU has edge rushers of that quality.

Getting the calls in so late had us snapping with 1 second, letting the DE go out the block..I trust the coaches to gameplan OSU right again and carry us to victory.
November 13th, 2023 at 9:46 AM ^
I agree. This seemed a big issue with the crowd noise and very likely because Moore had so much on his plate. Of course, this also used A LOT extra clock through the entirety of the game and we obviously ended up using how fast (recklessly?) those DEs fired into the line at the snap against them, too. But I hope to see us mix up when we snap it a lot more for OSU and Maryland.
November 12th, 2023 at 9:00 PM ^
Yeah, I thought he was offsides a couple times only to replay it and see it was just timed spot on.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:22 PM ^
Shorten the game with 7 olineman and run the ball down their throats
November 12th, 2023 at 9:42 PM ^
I would also hope we do this.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
Fuck Ryan Day.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
By far the biggest cry baby in the B10. Watch any game they play, he lives in the refs back pocket telling them exactly how to call the game. There’s no doubt this entire investigation will one day be traced back to him.

Add Fuck Ohio State and the state of Ohio....then my thoughts are complete
November 12th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
OSU's DEs are not Chop Robinson for all the hype they get. Last in the Big Ten in sacks.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:24 PM ^
Ohio…they SUCK, and I hate ‘em
November 12th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
Those were my thoughts as well

Ohio State Sucks
November 12th, 2023 at 7:25 PM ^
I think MI can have a similar gameplan as the psu game. Bring in extra lineman and TEs and make them stop the run. Will need to be more dynamic passing the ball though. On defense stay the course...stop the run, get pressure on qb and double Harrison as much as possible.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:25 PM ^
yes, my early thoughts are an osu is soft, their coach is a whiny crybaby snitch-ass bitch, and they can all fuck themselves with rusty hammers
go blue
November 13th, 2023 at 4:46 PM ^
Just curious: which end of the hammer?
Asking for a really twisted friend.

Years of BPONE has conditioned me to expect and predict the worse.
On paper, we should be able to run the ball on OSU as they struggle against the run. That being said, Michigan’s O-Line doesn’t look as sharp and Ohio State has a slightly improved defense. I’m also not impressed by our edge rush/pass rush. I’d be more confident if Harbaugh was coaching.

I am a basketball coach, so don’t have a thorough understanding of football schemes, but watching the game Saturday, other than adding the extra lineman, it looked like we had different blocking schemes than what we showed through the first 9 games. Almost like we used a vanilla type running game until we needed to shift to something else.
November 12th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
Experts can correct me, but it looked like we ran less inside zone with the extra beef on the field. In the past two years we ran a ton of power and counters. The extra linemen made our attack look more like 2021 and 2022.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
Michigan's pass rush is pretty good. Got pressure on most of PSU's dropbacks. Just didn't stop the run very well.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
I do like Graham vs OSU’s LT.
November 12th, 2023 at 10:19 PM ^
My BPONE is still strong.
I have scheduled a condo in the same unit in South Carolina where I went 2 years ago.
I can't be here in Columbus if we lose. Waking on the beach with the sound of the ocean with my oldest son is likely the only realistic solution to maintain mental health that afternoon should we lose.
Hopefully I'll be writing the score in the sand again.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
Their edge play is not as good as Penn States. Michigan will be fine!
November 12th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
I think Ohio State is in major trouble.
For a “safeties-driven” defense that Knowles runs, they are down their top-2 two safeties in Lathan Ransom and Josh Proctor, and they are down arguably their best/most consistent player in MLB T. Eichenberg. There’s no way their defense can adjust in time to handle Michigan’s balanced attack.
On offense, their offensive line is going to get eaten alive by Michigan’s defense. That unit has looked pathetic and mistake-ridden all season.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
Lathan Ransome being hurt is one of the biggest worries, tbh.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:48 PM ^
For whom? For OSU or for Michigan?
November 12th, 2023 at 7:54 PM ^
I havnt been up on the injuries, are these OSu players out for the game vs UM? Proctor. did he just recently get hurt? i saw him recently playing
November 12th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
For us, obviously. Dude sucks.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:49 PM ^
Egbuka got hurt again-or rehurt-last game also, did'nt he?
November 12th, 2023 at 8:57 PM ^
He played vs MSU
November 12th, 2023 at 8:59 PM ^
I briefly watched but did see him have a pretty big limp and go off the field right after a play. But I have not Googled him so just wondered if anyone knew offhand if he is going to be out for games again
November 13th, 2023 at 9:49 AM ^
He might sit out next week, but Eichenberg is going to play in The Game.
November 13th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
We already know The Don can get past Ransom.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
i got Maryland on my mind. Game at a time.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:11 PM ^
As a fan, you gotta focus.

Michigan generally doesn't lose to pocket passers. Historically, it's mobile QBs who kill Michigan. Warren Moon, Kordell Stewart, Donovan McNabb, all those Tressel/Meyer QBs, etc. If you make McCord move out of the pocket he'll lose the game for them. The key is to do that before he can throw in the direction of Marvin Harrison. I'm fully confident in Ryan Day's ability to lose this game for them as well.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:48 PM ^
Warren Moon is 66 years old now. Pretty confident they can contain him.
November 12th, 2023 at 8:58 PM ^
UM played Warren Moon? Serious question. My running QB memories start with McNabb 98! Running wasn't so much a part of the game before then.
November 12th, 2023 at 9:00 PM ^
Michigan vs Washington in the Rose Bowl in the late 70s. Washington and Moon at QB beat Michigan in a pretty big upset.
November 13th, 2023 at 4:52 PM ^
I remember that game all too well. It was infuriating how they could never catch that little sonofabitch.
That game was the start of a permanent grudge. For the rest of his career, I could never root for Warren Moon.

1978 Rose Bowl MVP
November 12th, 2023 at 9:28 PM ^
There were lots of teams in the ‘90s that still ran option-style offenses and were quite good. Nebraska was the most successful, of course, but hardly the only one.
November 13th, 2023 at 5:14 AM ^
Moon ran for less than 20 yds in that Rose Bowl but he completed some key rollout passes, ran for two short TDs, and was mobile enough to avoid pressure.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
Too many variables in play for me to think more beyond generalities until after Maryland, a team we can't sleep on regardless of how good or bad they've been.
Generally? It's OSU. They're super talented.
November 12th, 2023 at 9:22 PM ^
Fortunately, Maryland’s offensive style should be a dress rehearsal for Ohio.
November 12th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
Harrison and Egbuka will be the difference makers. How we match against them will dictate who wins
November 12th, 2023 at 7:46 PM ^
Just fine against olave-ninja-Wilson-stroud.
just fine against Harrison-stroud-egbuka.
not really worried.
