OT—Seth Towns in Portal
OSU b-ball player and one time Beilein recruit looking to play his 8th year of college ball (and may have two years left?). He has an unfortunate injury history.
It's nice that he can get his second doctorate.
Paging Dr. Seth Towns
8 years doesn't make him that old, especially when you have mad skills....
Dude can ball for sure
Pretty good form but…traveling.
....not in the NBA!
True.
I can't call it travelling even in college based on the available video evidence. score the deuce.
Not in college either. I'm old enough that it all looks like traveling to me. Eurostep. Ha!
Eurostep . . .
That's my senator! If you're in Burlington long you'll see him bopping down Church Street running errands. Because, unlike most politicians, he's a real human, like you or me. And if he runs for president at 100 years old, you can be sure as shit that I'm voting for him
Unfortunately CB somebody screwed that up for us and we lost our chance.
i do appreciate his sincerity. it stands out from about 99% of pols from any party.
and no doubt he is hell on wheels with that 8' rim.
He's got to be at least 6'2". I've had a couple of brief conversations with him and he towers over me (I'm 5'9"). He was actually a balla for his high school team in Brooklyn back in the 60s. You can see he's still got that old-timey, can't miss layup style.
I promise this won't be partisan or tribal: I can definitely see the humanity in Bernie. I won't name anyone, but a few recent high-profile candidates have had no human touch and it has cost them in the polls / elections.
If I remember correctly, John McCain was an example of someone who had a good "regular person" score.
Did you know that saying John McCain was a good man is actually left of center these days. Maybe even far left. Amazing times we live in.
Playing with the chain net. A true man of the blacktop.
He began his career in 2016 at Harvard
He was in the same high school class as one Rashan Gary.
move over
- brooks bollinger
- HS teammates Robbie Hummel & Scott Martin
- uh it's late i leave it to you to finish my list
To be fair, if you really want to maximize your academic opportunities while still being able to maybe play provided that the ankle (or whichever part of the body is troublesome) heals, the Robbie Hummel plan is difficult to beat.
Too bad this blog wasn't here in the early 90s. Pat Graham (Indiana) was in school as long as Hummel. His freshman year was the year after we won the national title. He graduated the same year Rose and Howard entered the draft.
I'd take him. He has two years.
No NIL is required (since we don't seem to have any NIL money in bball).
He answers our need for another 4.
He doesn’t need NIL because he’s already collecting social security.
He does have NIL potential selling - Depends, AARP Memberships, and The Clapper....
As long as he understands his role as TWill’s backup, let’s get him
He can be the sous chef while T-Will cooks!
TWill’s ? that’s funny. That dude is limited. If he has to see the floor much that’s a bad sign.
Terrence needs to be a back up or maybe even a back ups backup.
At least Rick Snow is being tongue in cheek. The guy that thinks Youssef is going to blow up this year is actually being serious.
I hear Coach Prime is making an offer
Move Jace to NIL, and sign him up. We need a shooter!
Our two scholarships need to go to Nkamhoua and a C (which we should have by now unless we are waiting for someone to comeback after testing the combine).
Juwan needs to land Ernest Udeh on a swap with KU.
Nkamhoua, Udeh, Towns and this is a tournament team.
Let's be optimistic! I think we could be a tournament team with our current roster:
Dug-Love-Burnett-Jackson-Taris. Why isn't that a tourny team?
Jackson was the 8th man on a terrible Seton Hall team, yet he's gonna come here to start?
Im with you on this one. If he was so-so on Seton Hall yikes. We added another average player to our college of average players (at best) to the 4 position.
Youssef, Twill, Jackson all should be our 7th or 8th player (one not all of them).
Reed is fine at the 5 but we are losing at least 8-10 pts a game going from Hunter to him and we have no back up.
Nah...
Reed/Udeh - Nkamhoua - Burnett - Love - McDaniel
then...
Reed/Udeh - Jackson - Williams - Khayat - Llewellyn
Tschetter - Towns - Howard - Washington
...realistically with 3 guards in the starting lineup, Towns is the 10th man, Khayat should with the 3rd group.
okay, whose heart skipped a beat because for a nano-second you thought it said:
Seth Fisher
calamity would ensue. the Mgouniverse would likely collapse on itself.
I thought it was weird Karl Anthony Towns was in the portal myself.
Right?
I thought it was some MGoBlog slang about towns that Seth covered—as if all the crew each not only had different sports to cover, but different geographical areas too.
And then somehow every kid Seth considered had hit the portal.
I'm surprised that our opponents aren't throwing bags of cash at him already. All that experience doing UFR and his in-depth knowledge of the plays. Hell, all that inside info could make even James Franklin look like a genius (ok, maybe that's a bridge too far).
Didn't Erik Spoelstra start in the film room?
Same thing.
Keith Jackson was his high school coach
Jayson Tatum was in the the same recruiting class, and has played in more NBA playoff games (87), than Seth has played college games (83).
OT and not super important, but what's with all the Apple News links lately? In case the one in the OP doesn't resolve for everyone (something that happened yesterday):

Lots of people go to college for 8 years. They're called doctors.
Insert picture of John Belushi here.
Double post
Thought this was going to be a list of towns that Seth lived in but for various reasons decided it would be better to move on.
- Detroit
- Southfield
- Bloomfield Hills
- South Lyon (half a summer)
- Ortonville (Summer)
- Ann Arbor
- Frankfort (Summer)
- Paris (Semester+)
- Troy
- Huntington Woods
- Lathrup Village
- Royal Oak (edge of Clawson)
- Sylvan Lake
- West Bloomfield
So I'm close to matching Seth Towns, but I'm also a little bit older than he is.
Older than Jayson Tatum.
You look at his class and there are guys who played in college, got drafted and are now considered "journeymen" in the NBA while he's still in college. I feel really bad for him due to injuries but it's sort of crazy.
