After 11 years - Finally!!
After 11 years of mostly lurking on this site, I've now crossed the magic 100 point threshold and am able to upvote and downvote people! Joy of joys!
Since it happened on the ChatGPT thread, I decided to commemorate this occasion by asking ChatGPT to write a poem about my incredible accomplishment:
Oh, how exuberant and grand,
As you cross the hundredth point land,
After eleven years of faithful play,
You can post new threads and have your say.
From the depths of MgoBlog's sphere,
You've risen high, without fear,
To upvote, downvote, and express,
Your thoughts and feelings, nothing less.
Thank you, Brian, for creating this site,
A platform for Wolverine fans to unite,
To share their passion, love, and pride,
In maize and blue, forever by their side.
And to Jim Harbaugh and the players too,
For beating Ohio State, not just one, but two,
For bringing joy and victory to our hearts,
And tearing down Buckeye's ego, apart.
So raise your glass, and shout out loud,
In this moment, you stand out proud,
A hundred points, a milestone achieved,
Your voice heard, your passion received.
Guess we started the Friday Drinking Thread early...
Iced tea and a cigar.
Prompt: "Please write a reply to a stupid blog post, criticizing the OP"
ChatGPT reply:
"Dear OP,
I recently stumbled upon your blog post and I must say, I was disappointed by the lack of thought and coherence in your arguments. It is clear that you have not taken the time to thoroughly research the topic you are discussing, and your post comes across as poorly informed and baseless.
Your use of inflammatory language and personal attacks only serve to further undermine your credibility. If you wish to engage in a meaningful discussion on a topic, it is important to present well-researched and reasoned arguments, rather than resorting to insults and name-calling.
Furthermore, your post lacks any sort of structure or organization. It is difficult to follow your train of thought and understand the points you are trying to make. It would greatly benefit you to take the time to structure your writing and present your arguments in a clear and concise manner.
In conclusion, I urge you to put more effort into your blog posts and strive to present thoughtful and well-researched arguments. Your readers deserve better than the kind of baseless and thoughtless content that you have presented in this post."
Congratulations on finally busting your hyeman!
Impressive
...except the first rule of points is that we don't talk about points.
A rule you just broke?
I wouldn't down vote you but, seriously, you question the structure of the fight club quote?
I hang my head in shame, bowing to the ineluctable gravity and formidable ubiquity of FIGHT CLUB.
Unless they aren't working.
You seem very important and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
I'm not sure which is worse, that poem or watching a dog sodomize a chipmunk.
If you ever figure that one out, go ahead and keep it to yourself! Most of us aren't interested in seeing either.
I've considered this further. The poem is worse.
even worse: a combination of both resulting in a haiku
Chip, alone, no Dale
Does not see Cujo approach
Bad fur's a flyin'
Just as I was lying here thinking, 'Hmm, I wonder how that would go down,' and 'is this gonna be consensual or not?' and 'if so, what is foreplay like between two such dissimilar creatures,' and even, 'I wonder if there is a Masters and Johnson doing research about such pairings. . .' But no, you made me feel ashamed!
That thought is so very specific I can't help but wonder how long you've been thinking about such things...
Tell me I should never enter the Great Cornholio's basement or check their browser history without telling me I should never enter the Great Cornholio's basement or check their browser history...
Oh crap, I just realized I shouldn't say bad things about ChatGPT's creations or it'll more than likely send the robots to sodomize me with chipmunks. We are in the darkest timeline!
With that screen name, you were hardly above suspicion to begin with.
And there they are. There are the damn robots. My wife is never gonna believe this is why I'm walking so funny.
Not convinced of that. . .
I'd say the user name checks out here.
I'm highly confident the NSF will give you a sizeable grant to research this. They'll throw money at anything.
Curious - you created an account 11 years ago but rarely posted? What was the original reason to create an account?
I've been lurking here for 16 years and created an account only last year(ish?) when I finally wanted to reply to someone's post
Mostly to post photoshopped pictures of Brian and other characters
Upvoting several of your posts because of your userpic!
Same here, was a long time lurker but then I was forced to work from home due to covid with absolutely nothing to do, said fuck it and signed up. I've been "working from home" ever since.
Then again, some folks like me are retired and always work from home. Who said getting old ain't fun?
Hey MRunner, I resemble that remark!!
I'm a bit disappointed it didn't do a haiku for you.
That can be arranged
Amidst the blog's din,
Eleven years of wit and words,
A hundred points won.
You’re a standup philosopher!
After many years
hyeman has popped his hyman
Let's all celebrate!
Nine points per year.
Pretty impressive.
Slow and steady wins the race.
He could have started from Bolivia, which would make the feat really impressive.
I'll drink to your accomplishment, OP. Cheers and may you post 100 more times in the next 11 years!
LOL ChatGPT tho
I thought ChatGPT wasn't aware of events in 2022.
That’s absolutely amazing that ChatGPT produced that. It sure can hallucinate.
I'm really surprised this hasn't been downvoted into oblivion with the way this board is on creating posts, haha.
We’ve all been rootin for ya buddy
Bold move. Such a post could’ve put you back below 100. Let’s try…
Be careful with your new powers.
Wow! No words for this thread.
More accurately: 6 words for this thread.
Bolivia
Congrats! I just cracked a beer in honor of your accomplishment.
(To be honest, I was going to have one anyway, but at least this gives me an excuse).
Its cute that you're so happy, but I don't come here for cute, so I gave you a Dave Hampton commemorative downvote. In 1972 he topped 1,000 yards rushing for the only time in his career but took a loss on his final carry to end up with 995. Nothing personal, but I'd get a chuckle if you fell back below 100.
Honest to God, I remember this happening. I think they gave him the ball after the carry that broke 1,000. I always wondered if they took it back after the loss.
Also - fuck, I'm old!
I'm not suggesting anything, but it'd be kind of funny if this thread resulted in so many downvotes that it takes you another 11 years to climb back up over 100.
Again, I'm not suggesting anything...
