Go Utah! I’ve enjoyed watching them play. Similar to Michigan, they’re a hard nosed, hard playing team.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:15 PM ^
Definitely Utah. Whittingham can coach circles around Frames Janklin.
January 2nd, 2023 at 8:23 PM ^
Whittingham can coach circles around Frames Janklin.
He can. He just chooses not to, right?
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:16 PM ^
Did you say Utes?
Let's go Utes!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:16 PM ^
I didn't want to talk to you anyway.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:23 PM ^
"Talk amongst yourselves." No, I'm not your puppet.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:25 PM ^
Park City is a good time and has some of the best skiing on Earth.
Go Utes!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:26 PM ^
Scott Bell is now saying there is smoke… im officially worried and agree that we cant do this dance every year.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
Maybe Harbaugh will formally interview with teams and take a job. I remember last year he just thought the interview was a formality w the Vikings.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:53 PM ^
Not good, Bob.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:32 PM ^
NOT my fault.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:39 PM ^
I think the underlying premise of these claims - that Harbaugh would leave if offered an NFL job - is probably true. But that means he'd be given what he's asking for, which is seemingly a lot of autonomy in terms of how he runs the team and no meddling from owners and other executives. That's the opposite of how the NFL is working right now and the Colts or the Broncos aren't going to give that to him.
Again, there are a lot of people having conversations with "close" sources to Harbaugh when we've seen pretty consistently he has a small, tight-knit group of friends and confidants. So either a lot of people are suddenly talking to these couple of people are we're getting a lot more speculation from people with tenuous connections to the program.
Harbaugh may very well leave for the NFL one day but I also get a sense people are just repeating talking points from last year because there's no harm to them if they're wrong. Like, if Bell, Feldman, Auerbach, etc. turn out to be wrong they could just say "hey, we said he might" and nobody would push harder to know the who, what, where, when, and why of their information.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
This may be true, but I also don't see Harbaugh throwing water on the smoke. If nothing else, it's going to hurt recruiting again - like it did last year. I think, at this point, unless JH says something in the next day or two, we can say goodbye to Harbor and Davis. This is the nature of the game, and I won't blame them.
But I'm getting pretty tired of Harbaugh not smothering smoke until the Fire Dept arrives and refuses to offer him a job.
January 2nd, 2023 at 7:21 PM ^
Where there's smoke, there's ... smoke? Wait a minute.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:28 PM ^
It definitely looks like the Penn State fans traveled better than Buckeyes did last year.
And, it also seems like PSU is trying to bring a white-out to Pasadena. It’s a good look… contras with the Utes red, which is also positive.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:02 PM ^
Looks 70-30 at least in favor of utes
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
I agree.. more Utes fans than PSU fans, but - there are some extenuating circumstances too - I think.
First, my guess is - both schools sold out their ticket allocation - which is what you want.
Second, Utah is closer to LA / Pasadena than State College / Pennsylvania - so, it’s a much shorter trip for Utes fans - and, there are probably more Ute alumni in southern Cal than PSU alums.
I would guess that local Utes bought into the secondary market more than PSU fans did - and, local Ute alumni leveraged their local connections for tickets.
It’s 14-14 and a pretty good game, so far…
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:28 PM ^
Utah could’ve been a playoff team. Fucking gritty ass team.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:28 PM ^
I endured too much trauma in Phoenix. I’m not ready to love football again.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:41 PM ^
neutral football is the best cure for football-induced depression though
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:46 PM ^
Yeah, the Cotton Bowl sure was fun to watch! But it also poured some salt watching Tulane do what Michigan couldn't...
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
Utah should probably win pretty comfortably. PSU is clearly the third best team in the Big 10 and Utah is the best team in the Pac 12.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
3rd best in the BIG10 is probably equal to the best in the Pac12 right now.
January 2nd, 2023 at 8:21 PM ^
This comment didn't age well. LOL!! It went south for Utah when Rising got knocked out. The life of the team went out with him...
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
Utes are a fun team!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
Surely PSU can do better than Manny Diaz for DC
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
looked like Utah was going somewhere
great pick!
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
Am I the only one having a difficult time watching this? After the final whistle (or rather, incorrect referee decision) Saturday, I tried deciding I was done with college football this year. Seeing college football right now just revives the feeling of disappointment.
I'm still watching, but I can't keep from constantly thinking how much better this would be if our team was prepping for the championship game. Yeah, I'm probably taking this all too seriously.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
Yep, I'm done for the year. Didn't watch any games yesterday or today
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:17 PM ^
maybe watching a good game will get your mind off of it
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
Another game where we are going to hear about how a team was dominated by Michigan during the season.
*sigh*
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
The national title game should always be held in the Rose Bowl.
A simple bowl divided in 2 by the fans with the purple mountains in the background >>> corporate stadium with multiple tiers.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
The most iconic and scenic football stadium in the country. Been there a couple times.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:45 PM ^
Nothing like it, great experience
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:52 PM ^
You haven't had the tailgating experience until you've setup on the golf course outside the stadium in that California sun with the mountains in the background. Just an awesome time.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
Especially on New Years Day!!!
I remember drinking mimosas all morning on the golf course with Meeeechigan fans from all over the country that day.
Great memories of a great big beautiful Meeeechigan football Rose Bowl win.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
Utah is a Big Ten team that got lost on the west coast.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:51 PM ^
They took a wrong turn?
It's not too late. They can still join.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
So this is what tempo looks like. Must be a new offensive gimmick.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:43 PM ^
Well, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a wing T live.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:45 PM ^
Penn State probably ran that some play 100 years ago in the Rose Bowl.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
Singleton and Allen are going to be handfuls next year . . .
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:46 PM ^
I got shit on for saying PSU could be favorites in the B10. They have weapons at all the skill positions. Only question mark is QB where they have a 5* taking over for Clifford.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:49 PM ^
They also have Frames Janklin as a head coach...
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
Wing T for the score. I would loved to have seen that last Saturday on the goal line
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
Too soon...
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:45 PM ^
That was an awesome TD by Penn State.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:46 PM ^
It's great for the B1G that USC and UCLA want to join the Conference. But, I think I'd really like to add Utah. Imagine how different the B1G West would look the past 5 seasons or so if Utah was included.
January 2nd, 2023 at 5:58 PM ^
Utah would be a logical B1G addition. Bring them in with Colorado.
January 2nd, 2023 at 6:17 PM ^
As much as I like Utah, I doubt they would be added to the B1G despite AAU standing, as the TV markets they bring don't add to the conference.
This is the reason Washington and Oregon haven't been added (to this point).
but who knows what will happen with expansion
