I Hate Ohio State
They always have a winning season.
If we are ranked, they are usually ranked by the time we play.
Their fans know nothing of the black pit of negative expectations (BPONE).
They had 3 WRs go in the first round and replaced them with three more that will likely get drafted.
They lose JSN and it doesn't matter for them.
Why is chaos coach Kevin Wilson their OC?
Why aren't their coaches poached more?
Tressell delivers on his promise to beat Michigan.
They follow up Tressell with Urban Meyer.
Urban Meyer never lost to Michigan as coach of OSU.
JT was short.
We lost the 2006 game.
We didn't get the 2 point conversion in 2013 to win it.
Michigan coach Greg Mattison going to OSU...
Terrel Pryor going to OSU after RR publicly courted him.
Hang 100 on em arrogance.
Let's beat them on Saturday. Let's beat them in the playoffs. And beat them in Ann Arbor next year.

I really would love to beat them this year, I have taken lots of comments from Ohio fans since the season started. I would like to silence those voices for a few months. Beat Ohio!
Happy Thanksgiving all!
November 24th, 2022 at 8:32 AM ^
I may hate Ohio State but goddamn do I respect them.
Time to turn the tide in this rivalry and ruin them.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
November 24th, 2022 at 9:08 AM ^
The narrative after this game will either be that UM win last year was a fluke, or that Day is Cooper and UM is in control of the rivalry.
November 24th, 2022 at 11:36 AM ^
And either one will be sensationalism.
Day being 1-2 vs. us doesn't put him in John Cooper territory. 1-3, now there's a legitimate discussion to be had.
And the win last year was a good old-fashioned, taking them behind the woodshed ass kicking. In fact, 15 points was as close as it could have been given our pure dominance.
November 24th, 2022 at 12:46 PM ^
This is relative.
From 1969-87, the series was 9-9-1. OSU didn't expect to win all the time; it was a back-and-forth series. Then Cooper came in and lost his first four games, ultimately finishing 2-10-1.
From 2004-19, the series was 15-1 in OSU's favor (yikes). OSU expected to win all the time. If Day drops to 1-2 after that, that's as big a shock to their system as Cooper's futility. Day wouldn't be fired or anything. But his honeymoon would be over for sure.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
As much as it pains me to point this out, 17-2 since 2001 is the pertinent number. Ohio State hiring Jim Tressel in 2001 is what ultimately turned the tide in the rivalry.
November 24th, 2022 at 4:39 PM ^
Yeah, but from a standpoint of fan expectations, I would say it really shifted, to the point where OSU fans expected to win all the time, a few years later.
They eked out two wins in '01 and '02, then were beaten soundly in '03. At that point it still seemed like a 50-50 series.
A year later, we came in 9-1 and Big Ten champs to OSU's 6-4. The game was in Columbus but most on both sides expected us to handle them. Then they beat us convincingly. Now it seemed clear that Tressel had the upper hand. He would never again go into the Game an underdog.
November 24th, 2022 at 1:29 PM ^
Absolutely, one of those takes will be the narrative and either one will be sensationalism. You wouldn’t think it could happen in The Game, but OSU appeared to think they would win last year by just getting off of the bus, and ran into an angry UM squad with a chip on their shoulder. It should be a great game.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:54 AM ^
Urban Meyer covered up domestic violence, and , as far as I can tell, their fan base does not GAF. The administration didn’t GAF enough to fire Urban.
I used to respect them, but THAT happened.
November 24th, 2022 at 11:34 AM ^
I hate this narrative. The only thing Meyer was (probably) guilty of was trying to keep two people together who never should have been together in the first place. Zach Smith is not a good dude, but there was never any proof he hit her. Hell, her own mother back Smith. You have plenty of reasons to not like Ohio, but this shouldn't be one of them.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:53 PM ^
I am not sure you can truly respect an enemy.
I find the boorish, psychologically fragile Buckeyes undeserving of respect. Fear, yes I fear them. But I do not respect them. They are unworthy of my respect.
November 24th, 2022 at 5:43 PM ^
Why hate them? They still have to live there. Seems punishment enough. Drive thru beer and wine stores thin the herd. They learn to use coolers as a toddler. Rest areas were latrines through the 70's along their major highways and they think brown water is attractive.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:36 AM ^
Suggested addition (not the only one that comes to mind):
OSU gets treated pretty well by the national sports media. Better than Michigan, I think. Watch: If they manage to win on Saturday you're going to see a bunch of "payback" / "redemption" stories that would make a casual reader think they were the ones with a long losing streak. Poor OSU fans will describe the deep pain they felt over the past ... year.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:39 AM ^
Exactly. We have felt that for 2 decades. They have hope in top 10 recruiting classes pouring out their ears.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:08 AM ^
Everybody knows this, so it doesn’t need to be said. Why are you saying it? You’re OP comes off so whiny, I have to wonder which side you’re on. We know what the score is.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:37 AM ^
Stop complaining we are 11-0. Focus on the positive and be grateful on thanksgiving.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:40 AM ^
I am. But it's nice to vent. Just sick and tired of the media parading this narrative that they are the victims because they lost a game.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:41 AM ^
I don't want them in the playoffs. If we beat them, I want TCU and USC to keep winning.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:45 AM ^
This is kind of an anti-thanksgiving message. But, it's hard not to feel that way.
It reminds me of a post I wrote years ago after we got smoked (RichRod era).
https://www.mgoblog.com/diaries/i-hate-everything
Here is a quote from that screed:
"I hate people who cheer for the "Big Ten" during Bowl Season. Christ, you think I'm going to get all excited for MSU or OSU during their bowl game? Fuck that - I cheer for them to lose, and I cheer for it to be a blowout. Really, the only thing that remains positive in my mind about 2006 was watching OSU get destroyed in the bowl game. The look on Tressel's face that night was precious. If you watch closely, you can see him reach into his pockets near the end of game, and rub a tiny pair of gold pants. Well, he is rubbing something in there, that I'm sure of."
I was feeling the same way then.
As for now, many years older, I kind of just try to enjoy that we have this thing between us, and that there will be a game, and sometimes, we will win. I hope that this Saturday is one of those days.
Go Blue!
November 24th, 2022 at 9:11 AM ^
I always cheer against ohio and sparty during bowl season.
( if sparty makes it to a bowl )
November 24th, 2022 at 9:49 AM ^
I’ve always rooted against Ohio. I used to root for state, but those days are long gone.
November 24th, 2022 at 11:19 AM ^
Won't have to worry about the later this year!! (Maniacal laugh)
November 24th, 2022 at 10:12 AM ^
I actually do cheer for all BIG teams during the pre-conference and bowl games. This conference has a lot of work to do in terms of national perception of conference performance. Any win helps, particularly against SEC foes.
November 24th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
Nah. Fuck the conference. None of them would root for us, so I’ll be damned if I return the favor.
November 25th, 2022 at 4:24 AM ^
Exactly, and it's not like we need it anyway. I had this discussion years ago with a friend who's an Illinois grad. She developed a passionate hatred for Michigan while in college. (She said that every time Illinois needed a win, Michigan beat them and ruined their title hopes. Since I don't follow Illini football, maybe she's right.) During this discussion, she very definitively said that she could never root for Michigan.
My reply was, That's fine, but we don't care. There are millions of Michigan fans across the world. Many of us were fans long before we went to one of the three campuses. And plenty of people who didn't attend the school jumped on the Michigan bandwagon years ago. Call them Walmart Wolverines or whatever cutesy name that strikes your fancy, but these are people who chose to be fans of Michigan. Sorry they didn't choose you.
We've got plenty of our own genuine fans. We don't need your temporary ones.
November 24th, 2022 at 8:52 AM ^
I hate them too
November 24th, 2022 at 9:07 AM ^
But how's their tunnel doing? Is it in a good mood...I hope. A message barely heard from Whoville.
I hope to see no more Bond Villains.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:11 AM ^
I hope the universe throws them into the two decade long pit of misery that it’s seen fit to throw Michigan into. They thought they felt pain after last year’s game. Those sheltered, entitled turds have no goddamn clue what pain is. And I hope they are subjected to football pain in the highest degree.
The stars always align for them whenever they need it. A starter gets injured and his replacement is just as good if not better. They fumble to themselves. A coach gets fired in disgrace and an all time great just happens to be taking a year sabbatical at the same time and is ready to step into a perfect situation with a QB tailor made for his system.
The level of good luck they receive is nauseating. They’re like Grits n Gravy from Chappelle’s Show. They’re that asshole that shows up to a dice game and rolls seventy seven sevens in a row for no other goddamn reason than they’re just that fucking lucky.
All you can is hope they just flame out and spend all their earnings on PCP.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:17 AM ^
Fuck Ohio
Beat Ohio.
Not necessarily in that order.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:25 AM ^
My earliest football memory was watching Lantry miss in 1974. So I’ve hated OSU 48 of my 57 years.
But today I’m thankful to be with my family.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:50 AM ^
Mine was watching watching Woody Hayes stalking the ohio state sideline. With his face like a boiled ham and his constantly open mouth that looked like it should have a fishhook in it, he was the perfect villain, the ideal representative of that shithole down south.
I formed that opinion at age 9, and 53 years later, it still holds.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:38 AM ^
At age 9? What took so long?
November 24th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
I grew up a baseball fan, and wasn't a football fan until we moved and I changed schools. At my new school, you had to be either a UM or State fan. But one look at those maize & blue uniforms, one listen to the world's greatest fight song, and one viewing of the 1969 upset, and I was forever Blue.
November 24th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^

November 24th, 2022 at 6:02 PM ^
Ha! What horseshoe? It’s actually a toilet seat!! Lol
November 24th, 2022 at 8:21 PM ^
Little known tidbit in folklore, is that Ohio Stadium was built on the site of Paul Bunyan's outhouse.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:45 AM ^
You really forgot so many other great reasons to hate them; Justin Boren, Maurice Clarett and Woody Hayes to name a few.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:46 AM ^
Thanks to all the damn weather posts here they're now predicting perfect football weather across the Midwest for Saturday. 55 degrees and mostly sunny in Columbus, 2% chance of rain.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:15 AM ^
I thought bad weather would help until Corum went down. Now I think Michigan is going to have to throw the ball quite a bit and would prefer no precipitation. I also think rain would make it less likely that Corum could go 10-12 snaps like I am hoping for.
November 24th, 2022 at 9:52 AM ^
On the other hand...
42-27
November 24th, 2022 at 9:58 AM ^
Turns out I hate them too.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:07 AM ^
Beyond all that, I am thankful that I am a Michigan alum and that we have this glorious rivalry game on our schedule every year (minus 2020 of course). The best in sports at any level. That's amazing. Win or lose, it was a really good year.
November 24th, 2022 at 11:46 AM ^
Likewise. And I agree with your last sentence too:
A win, and we're rolling into postseason play undefeated. That hasn't happened since 1997 (I happen to be watching the 1997 Game right now, so that's at the forefront of my mind). We'll have won in that dump for the first time since I was in high school.
A loss, and we still will have a chance to go out and beat a very good USC, or maybe Oregon, in the Rose Bowl. In one of the maybe last two years of the Rose Bowl having any of its historical significance. And we'd finish with our best record since... 1997.
November 24th, 2022 at 10:21 PM ^
I want the CFP but I would be totally fine with playing USC in the Rose Bowl. Oregon is probably a slightly better team but I would rather smack around Lincoln Riley as a welcome gift to the B1G.
