Officially official. Time to make amends for 2016.
September 19th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
Time to knock off another long running curse:
- beat Penn State during a "White Out" (done in the daytime but still counts!)
- beat Wisconsin at Camp Randall (done)
- beat Ohio State (done)
- win a B1G Championship (done)
- beat Iowa in Kinnick (SOON)
- beat Ohio State in Columbus (soon?)

This should not be close. It better not be close. We better blow their doors off once again.
September 19th, 2022 at 3:09 PM ^
Being that a 7 point lead is a 3 score game for Iowa, winning by double digits is indeed a blow out.
September 19th, 2022 at 5:16 PM ^
Four score lead. Safeties all the way
September 19th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
I don't care if it's a blowout or not. Just want a victory.
September 19th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
Michigan has lost four in a row at Kinnick, which is too many but not sure I'd call it a curse yet. Although it does feel like several (all) of those were gut punch painful losses.
Michigan won 6 of 7 before that.

It's an odd 4 game losing streak at Kinnick.
In 2009 and 2013, Michigan was baaaaad and really didn't have any business being in both games. We had an absolutely putrid day on offense in 2013 yet didn't lose until late in the 4th quarter by 3. In 2009, year two under RichRod, Michigan finished second to last place in the Big Ten. Yet against an 11-win Iowa team in a night game at Kinnick, we had a chance to win on the final drive of the game. All we needed was a field goal, but Denard threw an interception. We lost by 2.
Everyone knows about 2016. And the 2011 game ended with the blatant pass interference in the end zone that was not called. It was a horrible non-call, but we would have had to score a two-point conversion to force overtime.
So basically, the story of this 4-game losing streak is, if Michigan is bad, they're going to play Iowa neck and neck until the very end. If Michigan is good, bad Iowa teams are going to rise to the occasion and beat us.
Fuck Iowa. I'd love for this to be like last year's game at Wisconsin where we just run them out of their own stadium.

Wolvie Historian, I love you. And I appreciate your contributions to this site. But would I be right in estimating that 83% of your posts end with "F*ck ___________ (fill in name of opposing team)? It's hilarious!
September 19th, 2022 at 5:34 PM ^
Guilty. I hold a grudge against many teams and have to let it out.
September 19th, 2022 at 5:48 PM ^
As a licensed professional I endorse this method of channeling anger. Well done.

I do believe 2003 was the loss in that 6-of-7. We had big hopes for that season as I recall. I was seeing a woman in NC....serious football and Tar Heel fan. Visited her on Iowa weekend in October 2003 for the first time. After taking my requisite amount of crap for the recent MBB Championship game, we settled in to watch Michigan-Iowa at Kinnick. I was very confident and, uh yeah......damn.
At least we beat OSU that season!!

- Win a game while playing 8 QBs

Shocking upset under questionable circumstances that set the stage for four years of misery. Amazingly, only the second worst loss that week.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
That's the sexiest start time ever
September 19th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
BTW JJ's goofy "hand smiley" is my favorite part of this pic.
September 19th, 2022 at 5:40 PM ^
JJ's just helping Blake get over the fence.

Nothing beats a good nooner.

Nooners and Nighters; love ‘em both.
September 19th, 2022 at 3:47 PM ^
It’s from noon to night is noonighter?
September 19th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
So you're say there is a chance...
September 19th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
THANK YOU GOD.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:18 PM ^
Embrace the pink and purge the ghosts of Kinnick!
September 19th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
My toddler naps at noon for 2 hours…noon games are amazing.
September 19th, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
This is an underrated comment. Couldn't agree more. 👏
September 19th, 2022 at 1:29 PM ^
Yes!!! Very excited!! Noon Kinnick is not as scary as Night Kinnick. Thank the football gods for this one!
September 19th, 2022 at 2:01 PM ^
That's 11 AM Local time. Too early for Iowa students?-Hope so.
September 19th, 2022 at 4:20 PM ^
All of Iowa’s noon games are 11 am local time as are Illinois, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Nebraska.
I think everyone is used to it.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
I'm Eastside Maize and I approve this message.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:38 PM ^
Thank you Fox. We don't need any more of the Night Kinnick Experience (TM).
September 19th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
Since I’m attending the game, I was probably one of thee few Michigan fans who wanted a night game. Guess I’ll have just deal with getting up super early to tailgate an 11am local kick. Go blue!
September 19th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
They sell beer there. You'll get by.
September 19th, 2022 at 3:24 PM ^
I selfishly liked the idea of a night game but only since I am attending. However 12pm kick is WAY better.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:44 PM ^
Thunk so. Good for Michigan, we're gonna smoosh 'em (as my wife likes to say). Go Blue!
September 19th, 2022 at 1:45 PM ^
#4 Michigan going to Iowa... at noon.
What a break.
Anyone know if Fox has the priority pick that week? I'm trying to figure out if we got the noon kick because the game is attractive.. or because Brian Ferentz has made the game *unattractive*.
September 19th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
FOX has the game and they're sending their A team with Johnson and Klatt.
September 19th, 2022 at 4:33 PM ^
So it's a scouting trip to see if we really are what we appear to be.
September 19th, 2022 at 5:32 PM ^
Isn't that also the case this week versus Maryland?
September 19th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
My recollection is that networks alternate which weeks they get first choice. Just scanning the schedule (after I posted, maybe I should have done this *before*, but internet hot takes wait for no one) I would speculate that ABC got first choice this week and took Wisconsin/OSU for their prime time game. Then Fox got first choice next week and picked UM-Iowa. I could be wrong, of course, just trying to draw conclusions from the schedules.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
This has a lot of similarities to last year's Wisconsin game. First road game at 12 noon vs. a solid program from the West in a place where we haven't won in years. Need to do EXACTLY what we did one year ago and take care of business.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:51 PM ^
The vortex of misfortune that is Kinnick at night is successfully avoided. Good.
September 19th, 2022 at 1:54 PM ^
Excellent news. Thanks !
September 19th, 2022 at 1:56 PM ^
I think I got a bunch of negs for saying this will be big noon back in early august.
I’ll check the film and maybe request a refund on those 🤣
September 19th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
Here, have another!
September 19th, 2022 at 2:37 PM ^
Thank god. Kinnick is still a tough place to play but this makes it a bit less daunting.
Let's just hope that McCarthy doesn't suffer what seemingly every Michigan QB (before McNamara last year) has suffered when they went on the road to Iowa or Wisconsin: a freaking broken collarbone.
September 19th, 2022 at 2:45 PM ^
thank god!
September 19th, 2022 at 3:00 PM ^
Yay! NOT a night game!!
September 19th, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
May there be many Ojris in the end zone during this particular Big Nude Saturday.
