Michigan Monday is UP
This is something I look forward to every year. Tony does a good job of keeping things enjoyable to read while giving an OSU biased analysis. Even when Michigan is Hoking things up, I can usually laugh at the things he types up because the content is so relatable. Apparently Tony has again moved platforms as he's no longer on Buckeye Scoop but is instead on Buckeye Huddle now. Here's the link for his most recent edition (Posted on the 5th)

Pretty good summary. Enjoy reading these.
September 8th, 2022 at 7:10 PM ^
That is a good summary. Lots of positive comments about our players - you wouldn’t expect this from a rival. I enjoy reading his write-ups.

Amazing that not all buckeye fans are stage 5 assholes. I loathe them but I’ll always give credit where it’s due. The use of Xichigan tells me all I need to know about them. Imagine trying to decipher a buckeye terx paper.

“I fully expect this to be McNamara’s final start as a Michigan Wolverine.”

Poseidon, to post a link, click the paper-clip icon (like a link in a chain) at the top of the Comment box.
September 8th, 2022 at 3:28 PM ^
Thanks. I post so rarely that I forget I have to do that.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:19 PM ^
Can we sticky these instructions to the board?
September 8th, 2022 at 4:30 PM ^
I'm sure they're somewhere.
I keep posting the instruction because I learned from someone else's post. However, mine was a long explanation.
THEN a few weeks ago, someone called the link icon a paper clip, and I changed my long set of steps to one line.
Wish I could remember those two someones, to thank them.

Y'know, sometimes getting clever means outclevering yourself.
His QB / boxing comparison is pretty close to inside out: "This is like having Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali fight each other and then rather than declaring a winner afterward, you tell them that you’ll need to see both of them do some shadow boxing in order to figure out who won the fight."
No, this is like having Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali shadow box through fall camp, and then actually fight someone (even if not the same someone).
ALSO, going from MGoBlog to whatever that toe-shoe (tOSU) site is called is like going from color to a black & white.
September 8th, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Although in the case of actually fighting "someone" it's like telling them to go fight Glass Joe two weeks in a row.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:28 PM ^
Yeah, the Glass Joe's are frustrating. I feel like we won't really know who our QB is until we face a close game against a high level opponent. They, whoever they are, has to perform under pressure and win in a contested game.
Until that moment, most likely against a rival, everything else is just an off broadway production.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
They, whoever they are, has to perform under pressure and win in a contested game.
What if they fail to perform when there is no pressure in a game that isn't contested?
September 8th, 2022 at 11:47 PM ^
I am assuming a real “failure to perform” at the QB position will result in a contested game.
Then we will know who our QB is. You fumble twice and int against rivals and someone is warming up real quick.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:32 PM ^
That site is a lot better organized and the forum is better but maybe that's just me. Fuck OSU tho
September 8th, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
Sorry dude, toe shoe isn't gonna happen.
September 8th, 2022 at 9:45 PM ^
Yeah, I know. It's just that I always think it so I thought I'd take it out for a spin once.
(Or twice.)
September 8th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
My favorite, "This non-conference schedule is the worst thing to happen to Michigan fans since Rich Rodriguez said yes."
September 8th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
That was his only attempt at something other than straight-forward summary. He's either bored or overworked and just needed to get something out there. Outsourcing, indeed.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:20 PM ^
You'll notice the tone on these things always change depending on how the teams looked.
1) OSU didn't look all that impressive so there isn't a ton of cocky gloating to be done.
2) Michigan legit looks like a top 5 team and the only real criticism is that our OSU-beating B1G-winning QB might not be as good as his backup, which quite literally the whole world knows (its been running non-stop on repeat since the Harbaugh/NFL story ended).
3) This was as nothing-burger as a game could get. Michigan didn't light it up quite enough to focus on that but they didn't stink it up enough to focus on that. Even our discussions here have been pretty mild, only a few posts, fewer replies to the post-game and d-ufr, fewer post game snowflake threads (usually seen on Sunday/Monday), etc.
There honestly just wasn't a lot to talk about and even less shit to talk than there has been in 20'ish years. This game sucked, the non-con sucks this year, the only reason CSU, Hawaii, and Conn are even remotely interesting is because Michigan only plays 13/14'ish games a year.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
Had a great OCC planned, evidently the wrong guy was doing the scheduling.
September 8th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
buckeyehuddle.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to buckeyehuddle.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be buckeyehuddle.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged. You cannot visit buckeyehuddle.com right now because the website sent scrambled credentials that Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

gonna pass
September 8th, 2022 at 4:22 PM ^
You're missing out, he does a good job and always has.
It's a great way to get a less "hope-filled" "sunshine-and-rainbows" review that comes off as less biased than the ones here tend to (since the ones here always tend towards hope).
September 8th, 2022 at 4:38 PM ^
It was my first time reading his material. Definitely refreshing in a way to read a perspective that isn't through Maize-tinted glasses. However, it will be interesting to see his tone later in the season when both teams are clicking at full speed.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:47 PM ^
As a rule, the better we get the deeper into the season we get, the snarkier he gets.
If it's early in the season and / or we suck, he is usually complementary.
September 8th, 2022 at 11:22 PM ^
I think this guy is a definite closet Michigan fan. He says "I like" when speaking about Michigan players way more than any average OSU fan could stomach.
September 8th, 2022 at 10:23 PM ^
Only the penitent man will pass!
September 8th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Wow Michigan Monday not posted here until Thursday. I guess beating them has us less worried about what they think of us.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:16 PM ^
I've seen way worse, and I say this with respect to the OP, but why does this merit a separate board post?
September 8th, 2022 at 4:23 PM ^
Hard to believe you've been a member for 11 years and not realized that these get posted damn near every week as their own thread.
It's good content, that's why it gets posted and why it's allowed to stay up.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:34 PM ^
It's good content that is often hard to find because it moves around so much. It was even on a .net (not a .com) site for a while.
So it is always helpful when somebody finds it and posts the link.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
These are going to be so fun to read this year
September 8th, 2022 at 4:20 PM ^
OK. My only complaint is by now people should really know how to post a link on this blog. It's not hard. Simply paste the link in the add link button in the top left of the box. Done!
September 8th, 2022 at 4:24 PM ^
This is usually good content, anybody automatically dismissing this is missing out.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
The boxing analogy is so off. The boxing match would be the game and the shadow boxing would be practice. Anything to discredit Harbaugh, even if it means you publicly show the world how illogical you are.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:26 PM ^
Practice would be sparring.
Shadow-boxing would be throwing a football at a tire.
September 8th, 2022 at 6:40 PM ^
except he’s right…Practice is likely harder vs our defense, hence that was the match, and any of the first few opponents are shadows.
September 8th, 2022 at 4:29 PM ^
What Does It All Mean?
It means that when your offense settles for three first-half field goals in the red zone against a Colorado State defense that finished last season by giving up 50 and 52 points to Hawaii and Nevada, respectively, it’s okay to go with a different starting quarterback.
Sums it up pretty well. Sometimes an outside disinterested opinion cuts through the fog of argument.
September 8th, 2022 at 5:02 PM ^
His comparison of our QB battle to having Ali and Tyson box each other and then having them shadow box afterwards before declaring a winner was hilarious.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
Seems to be selling the receivers pretty short, although they didn’t get much of a chance to shine.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:19 PM ^
I'd have to go back and look at more of his previous writeups, but didn't he used to include a fear gauge about how serious/nervous Ohio State folks should be about Michigan in the lead up to the game? I seem to remember something of that nature.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
I think that was on 11 Warriors.
September 8th, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
LOL... "Cade McNamara doesn’t scare defenses. JJ McCarthy does. The problem is that McCarthy may also scare Jim Harbaugh, which is maybe why they have him run the ball as much as he throws it."
September 8th, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
I expect these things to be less magnanimous now that Michigan has beaten those fuckers (42-27 in case anyone missed it.)
September 8th, 2022 at 10:31 PM ^
Nothing said is inaccurate or needlessly nasty. "JJ scares defenses but also may scare Harbuagh" is a perfect summary of why this is even a battle to begin with. We'll see.
It's just nice to read this and for the first time in forever have it not be filled with "we have destroyed them 900 years in a row" snark. That was nice.
September 9th, 2022 at 6:07 AM ^
Thanks for sharing.
September 9th, 2022 at 9:49 AM ^
I feel like it's rare to find a buckeye who can provide an unbiased and reason account of anything Michigan but I enjoy this guy.
September 9th, 2022 at 11:20 AM ^
I agree that this is often a funny or good natured column. Does OSU have a site or content somewhere where they laugh at or parody themselves?
I know UM is considered arrogant by most of the country. But OSU always felt like the most sensitive and least self-aware fanbase in college football.
