Harbaugh agrees to contract extension
February 16th, 2022 at 4:48 PM ^
Must have seen the thread below and was motivated to get it done.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:23 PM ^
It's about time, that thread is nearly two hours old!
February 16th, 2022 at 4:49 PM ^
WOW!!! I never thought that would happen. Any details?!!!!!!!!!
February 16th, 2022 at 4:50 PM ^
None yet, other than that it expires after the 2026 season.
February 16th, 2022 at 6:03 PM ^
Josh Gattis was originally required to bring one quart of whole milk to Harbaughs door daily. However, with Gattis leaving those duties needed to be filled and that has been the reason for the delay. Those are now going to be delivered by Scott Frosts mom so all is right with the world.
at least this is what inside sources are telling me.
February 16th, 2022 at 6:11 PM ^
She needs to taste it before handing it over.
February 16th, 2022 at 4:49 PM ^
So hopefully ends one of the weirdest epochs in Michigan football history.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:10 PM ^
At least until next Ground Hog Day anyway.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:18 PM ^
Right you are. With Jim its always something. Just the nature of the man, I guess. But it sure is a fucking rollercoaster.
February 16th, 2022 at 9:38 PM ^
The whole “It’s Happening” roller coaster was quite the ride, too.
February 16th, 2022 at 4:58 PM ^
Excluding buyout details is... an interesting decision.
February 16th, 2022 at 4:59 PM ^
They included that it goes until 2026. The full thing will got FOIA'ed.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:07 PM ^
Exactly... why force the FOIA when everyone knows the buyout is what impacts the sense of stability you can sell to recruits and coaches.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:07 PM ^
You expect them to put buyout details in a press release announcing a contract extension? As though one party or the other won't see the contract through the end?
February 16th, 2022 at 5:14 PM ^
It always seems like we need to wait a day or two and a reporter like Angelique Chengelis gets the terms of the agreement and reports out the terms. It is slow play out with no fanfare leaving us to all interpret the meaning of the terms without really knowing what was really discussed. Glad it was signed and that the coaches and team can start to get ready for Spring Practice.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:15 PM ^
It's not official until the Regents approve it. Hence no details.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:39 PM ^
Regents had to have green‐lighted it before any announcement like this being published. Regardless of formal meetings, Ts & Cs were approved as was the decision to announce.
February 16th, 2022 at 4:59 PM ^
Glad it’s finally done. Happy to have him signed and sealed.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:02 PM ^
Ask and you shall receive
February 16th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Oh, yeah... Right! Like I believe this actually happened.
I shall continue to like awake at night expecting disaster, as I have since first seeing the winged helmet in 1969...
/s (well, portions are /s)

Proof the coaches and athletic department are reading MGoBlog.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:20 PM ^
As well they should.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:25 PM ^
Everybody that loves or hates Michigan reads mgoblog.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:16 PM ^
I apologize if this has been talked about ad nauseam.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:17 PM ^
Glad it is over. Let us not do this again until 4 more wins against OSU in 4 years.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:27 PM ^
Did Harbaugh do all of this as homage to Bo's flirtation with TAMU?
February 16th, 2022 at 5:37 PM ^
Our rivals and bowl opponents will love this.
I don’t like it or hate it but understand it for sure. This should have been done before he went out to try to go back to the NFL.
February 17th, 2022 at 8:01 AM ^
You are 100% correct on all fronts.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:49 PM ^
How will he coach UM and the Harris family at the same time?
February 16th, 2022 at 6:26 PM ^
I am not sure.
The commitment required to coach the Harris family is grossly under appreciated.
February 16th, 2022 at 5:56 PM ^
Just like WD got Dave Brandon out, poseidon7902 got Harbaugh a contract!!! MGoBlog and Counterstrike make things happen!!
February 16th, 2022 at 6:18 PM ^
This is the only substantive description of the agreement in the announcement: "The contract alters the terms and length of the deal signed last January by an additional season." https://mgoblue.com/news/2022/2/16/football-harbaugh-and-michigan-agree-to-reworked-contract.aspx
It's not clear if his salary, bonus or buyout (or anything else) changed.
February 16th, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
Keep building.
Go Blue.
February 16th, 2022 at 11:41 PM ^
I kind of wish this happened after our playoff game. Oh well, better late than never. I just hope Harbaugh keeps himself and his team motivated.
February 17th, 2022 at 9:58 AM ^
is this an extension of the extension? or just a rerun?
